Gait Evaluation, Nathan Hinkeldey, D.C. and Chris Feil, D.C.
 

This course is designed to present practical concepts regarding gait and foot analysis and its applications within functional evidence-based multimodal chiropractic care. The course will probide a systematic approach for hte evalutation, treatment and documentation of subjective, objective and functional findings in regards to walking and running gait. This seminar will illustrate the simplicity of gait analysis with the aid of affordable technology and address the common dysfunctional movement patters that may present with lower extremity pathologies. In addition, the course will provide shoe fitting and show wear recommendations for proper foot function.

Dr. Brian Budgell, an internationally renowned chiropractic researcher and career scientist, brings clarity to the complex world of human physiology.  Dr. Budgell convincingly demonstrates that somatovisceral management can be evidence-based, and that chiropractic care of many non-musculoskeletal conditions can be as scientific as musculoskeletal care.

Whole Person Cancer Care, Jeff Sklar, D.C.
Nutritional Considerations for a Patient with a Cancer Diagnosis, Deliliah A. Anderson, M.S., D.C., D.A.C.B.N., D.A.B.C.I

 

Saturday 

9 a.m.-1 p.m. Whole Person Cancer Care with Dr. Sklar

The first 4 hour session will be presented by Jeffrey Sklar, D.C., from the Cancer Treatment Centers of America. Along with him, Danielle Kennedy, R.D. and Veronica Stevens, N.D., will present an integrative approach to oncology. An overview of cancer, including statistics and pathology will be presented. The special needs of a cancer patient will be discussed. They will discuss Chiropractic in a medical setting and the proven efficacy of chiropractic.

2-6 p.m. Nutritional Considerations Part I with Dr. Anderson

Dr. Anderson will review scientifically sound research regarding the role nutrition plays in cancer in the final 8 hours of the weekend.  You will learn the planning and integration of nutritional recommendations for your patients regardless of where they are in their cancer treatment. The session will cover interactions between drugs, nutraceuticals and food.  You will be able to recognize and minimize side effects. The session will emphasize repair and rebuilding during and post treatment and discuss co-management strategies.

Case Correlations, Lora Tanis, D.C., DICCP 

 

Case Correlations will build on the three previous sessions. Dr. Tanis will bring pediatric cases and demonstrate how to manage the conditions that are covered in the previous 3 weekends of this series: Gait Evalutation, Somatovisceral Discorders and Cancer. She will identify warning signs for each of the conditions that you must look for in our young population.

Feb. 8-9

Medicare, Al Luce, D.C. - 6 hours (Saturday 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2-4 p.m.)

Head Injury, David Quist, EMT-B, D.C., DIBCN (Saturday 4-6 p.m. and Sunday 8 a.m.-Noon) 

 

In this 6 hour class we will discuss head injuries which may be encountered in a chiropractic office or outside the office. This discussion will inlcude traumatic head injuries including but not limited to: concussion, intracranial bleeding, stroke, skull fractures, contusions, orbital fractures, eye injuries and hypertensive emergencies. We will also discuss return to play guidelines for athletes following a head injury. In addition, there will be a discussion of stroke and cervical adjusting. Practical treatment and referral recommendations will be given.

Mar. 15-16

Healthy Aging: The Anti-Aging Workshop, Jeffrey Tucker, D.C. 

 

This course will train you in prescribing exercise therapy based on objective assessments, establish treatment goals, and provide healthy lifestyle recommendations for your aging patients. The course takes you through the individual consultation process, assessment of movement patterns and diet/nutritional recommendations.

June 7    

One Day - The Spine and Concussion in Sports, William Moreau, D.C., DACBSP® and Ronald Shepherd, D.C., DACBSP®

This 12 hour course will provide Doctors of Chiropractic with current information concerning the skills and knowledge required for a Doctor of chiropractic to serve athletes and athletic teams as well as in depth study of the evaluation and management of concussion and spinal injury in the athletic population. Discussed conditions include scoliosis, Scheuermann’s, spondylolysis, spondylolisthesis, Marfan Syndrome, discopathy and spinal stenosis. The presentation will include case studies based on current literature sources and a two hour hands on work shop regarding the physical examination of the shoulder and knee.
