Annual Giving

What is Annual Giving at Palmer College of Chiropractic West?

Contributions to the Annual Giving program at Palmer West enrich the lives of our students, strengthen our programs, and secure the future of our College and our profession. Annual gifts are the mainstay of our successful development effort and reflect the commitment of our alumni and friends to educational quality.

Contributors to the Annual Giving program may give unrestricted gifts or designate their gifts for a particular purpose. Unrestricted gifts are our most valuable resource and allow us to respond to unforeseen opportunities.

Annual Giving contributions benefit the College in numerous areas such as scholarships, research, campus enhancements, library and clinic acquisitions, faculty development and classroom instructional support.

Gift Clubs

Palmer College of Chiropractic West proudly recognizes contributors at the following levels:

President's Club:

What are the benefits of belonging to the President's Club?

Frequently asked questions about Palmer College West's Annual Giving program:

  • How do I make cash or credit card gifts?
  • Can I make a pledge rather than a one-time gift?
  • How do I make a gift in honor or in memory of someone special?
  • How do I donate equipment, books and other types of gifts-in-kind?

What types of contributions are made to Palmer's Annual Giving program?

Gifts of Cash:
These include currency, checks and MasterCard or VISA, and provide an income tax deduction for the year in which they are received. Also, contributors immediately qualify for recognition in a Palmer College West Gift Club.

Pledges:
Donors may fulfill gifts over the course of time by completing and returning a pledge card to Palmer College of Chiropractic West. Our development staff will send helpful pledge reminders monthly, quarterly or semi-annually to suit our donors' individual needs.

Memorials or Living Tributes:
Donating to Palmer College West in memory of a loved one or in honor of a favorite patient or chiropractor requires no minimum gift and serves as a wonderful tribute to that individual. Honorees and/or families are notified of these gifts by the development office.

Gifts-in-kind:
Equipment, library resources, archival materials and other types of personal property may be donated to the College once our Development staff has been contacted. It's up to the donor to establish a value for the gift. Internal Revenue code requires a qualified appraisal when the claimed value of the gift is $5,000 or more.

Establishing Scholarships at Palmer College West

Donors may lessen the financial burden of Palmer College of Chiropractic West students by establishing annual or endowed scholarships. To endow, the scholarship fund must reach a minimum balance of $10,000 within three years. Once the principal is endowed, only the fund's interest earnings are awarded as scholarships. Donors work closely with Chief Development Officer Drew Boster to create scholarship criteria.
