A strong working endowment is fundamental to the advancement and success
of an institution of higher education. It enables Palmer College to
accomplish its greatest priorities, namely: recruit and challenge
outstanding students, attract and retain prominent, well-respected
faculty, provide operational funds for new and innovative curriculum and
academic programs, enhance the campus experience, preserve our history
and raise the profile and reputation of the College.
Contributions
can be made to our pooled endowment funds, already existing endowed
funds, the unrestricted endowment or to establish a new endowed fund
(minimum of $50,000).
- Pooled endowment funds:
Pooled endowment funds were established for donors who want their
funding to make a difference and be invested for the long term, but are
concerned that their level of giving may not allow for an individual
naming opportunity. Pooled funds include endowed scholarships, student
resources, faculty excellence, campus/facilities and chiropractic
history.
- Existing endowed funds:
These named endowed funds have been established to ensure Palmer’s
long-term success and provide funds for scholarships, faculty excellence
and campus improvements.
- New endowed fund:
A minimum gift of $50,000 is required to establish a new endowed fund
named at your request. This gift is an act of great generosity and
vision.
- Pooled Endowed Funds:
Contributions to our pooled endowment funds are comingled with other
endowment gifts allowing donors to make significant gifts that have an
impact on the future of Palmer College. The funds are then invested with
a portion of the return distributed to support the following areas:
- Endowed Scholarships: provide students tuition assistance based on merit and/or financial need.
- Student Resources: include special projects, leadership training,
guest lecturers, library resources, technology, athletics, student clubs
and research.
- Faculty Excellence: includes training, education, travel, faculty excellence awards, research and department stipends.
- Campus/Facilities: include maintenance of facilities, campus development and emergency funds.
- Chiropractic History: provides for maintenance of facilities, exhibits, research, acquisition and preservation.
Existing Endowed Funds:
These named endowed funds have been established to ensure Palmer’s long-term success and provide funds for scholarships, faculty excellence and campus improvements. Gifts can be designated to any of the established funds.
New Endowed Fund:
A
minimum gift of $50,000 is required to establish a new endowed fund
named at your request. This gift is an act of great generosity and
vision. Donors who decide to create an endowment do so because they
understand the importance of supporting the College not only during
their lifetime, but for generations to come. Many donors choose to honor
a loved one, memorialize an important person in their life or ensure
that their name and generosity will forever be a guiding force in
Palmer’s success. Please contact a Development Officer who will be happy
to work with you on establishing an endowment agreement and guidelines.
The Pooled Endowed Funds are:
Endowed
Scholarships: The pooled endowed scholarship fund has established
criteria to provide students tuition assistance based on merit and/or
financial need. Scholarships provide a permanent way to make a
difference in the life of a Palmer student. Almost all of our students
depend on some sort of financial aid to achieve their goal of becoming a
doctor of chiropractic. You can help, now and in the future, by giving
to the endowed scholarship fund.
Student Resources:
This
pooled endowed fund provides opportunities and student resources to
enhance the educational experience. Gifts fund special projects,
leadership training, guest lecturers, library resources, technology,
athletics, student clubs and research.
Faculty Excellence:
This
pooled endowed fund provides the College with a powerful tool for
attracting and retaining preeminent faculty, who in turn attract the
best and brightest students. Funds are used for training, education,
travel, faculty excellence awards, research and department stipends.
Campus/Facilities:
State-of-the-art
campus facilities help to attract both faculty and students to Palmer
College, provide a better learning environment and help keep tuition
increases to a minimum. Gifts to this fund assist with maintenance of
facilities, campus development and emergency funds.
Chiropractic History:
History
is an important aspect of Palmer’s heritage. Gifts to this fund provide
for maintenance of facilities, exhibits, research, acquisition and
preservation.
