Degree Candidacy

Admission as a Degree Student in graduate studies is not tantamount to admission to candidacy for the degree sought. Students are admitted to candidacy at the recommendation of an advisory committee and by vote of the Graduate Council (see Degree Requirements and the section describing the degree requirements for a specific program).
