When a students register for a graduate courses, they must indicate if those courses are being taken for graduate credit or audit.

Credit: Only those admitted to graduate study (degree or non-degree students) are permitted to register for transcribed credit in graduate courses. Students registering for graduate credit must adhere to all course-related requirements, including prerequisites (unless granted a specific exemption), participation, examinations and assignments.

Audits: Those auditing graduate courses need not be admitted to graduate study. Audits are granted on a course-by-course basis at the discretion of the Division of Graduate Studies and the instructor, with priority for registration given to those enrolled for credit. Individual grade reports or transcripts are not provided, but registration is transcribed for those admitted to graduate study. Courses audited may NOT subsequently be converted or transcribed for credit. Students auditing a course are not required to adhere to prerequisites or other course requirement. They also are not eligible for instructional services (evaluation or academic advisement – unless admitted to graduate study).
