All applicants must submit*:

  • $100 non-refundable application fee at time of application.
  • Autobiographical Essay one to two typed pages explaining why you are choosing a career in chiropractic and why you want to get your Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic.
  • Official transcripts where any college level courses were taken (sent to the Davenport address above).
  • Two letters of recommendation on official letterhead** (one from a Doctor of Chiropractic and one from a college faculty member).
  • Although not required at time of application, applicants will be requested to submit high school transcripts, tuition deposit and complete their background check authorization and admissions interview.

*Note: Required for Port Orange, Fla., Campus residents and recommended for Davenport, Iowa, and San Jose, Calif., campuses.
 

International students must submit:

  • National Association letter of approval (if needed)
  • TOEFL score or proof of English proficiency
  • Certification of Finances
  • Disclosure statement of any criminal convictions

While you wait for acceptance you may gain provisional acceptance by completing the following:

  • Application fee
  • 60 semester units of overall coursework
  • A minimum overall GPA of 2.75
  • Major declared if seeking degree
  • A completed transfer form (if you have attended another chiropractic college)

Re-admission

If you have withdrawn from Palmer and are applying for re-admission, requirements vary based on the length of your absence.

Pre-Chiropractic Education

Our Joint Admissions program in Davenport, Iowa, or Port Orange, Florida, is an accelerated, cost-effective way to meet prerequisite requirements for the Doctor of Chiropractic program. Start your college education here or take a few prerequisite courses. Programming is designed specifically for Palmer students.

Send Official Transcripts

Request transcripts from all post-secondary institutions you have attended to be sent directly from those institutions to the address above.

Send Official GRE Reports

Applicants are required to submit scores from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Reports must be sent directly from the Educational Testing Service to the Division of Graduate Studies (institutional code R6593). Registration and additional testing information for the Graduate Record Examination is available at www.ets.org/gre.

Bachelor of Science in General Science

  • Pay $100 evaluation and $50 application fees
  • Complete B.S. degree program application 
  • Attach official copies of transcripts
  • We recommend completing application prior to start of fourth trimester of the D.C. program. This will ensure concurrent graduation.

(Note: Your admittance is approved by the Undergraduate Program Oversight Committee.)

File Intent to Graduate

  • Pay $100 graduation and records fee. Complete Intent to Graduate form for final approval of the B.S. degree.
  • We recommend the Intent to Graduate form be completed no later than the end of ninth trimester of the D.C. program. This will ensure concurrent graduation.

Note: Students are allowed one year after their D.C. graduation to complete all requirements.


Associate of Applied Science in Chiropractic Technology

Important dates:
  • Submission of your application is recommended three months prior to the start of the term.
  • Applications will be accepted at any time, however, your start date and financial aid may be affected by submitting fewer than four weeks prior to the start of the term. Your admissions and financial aid representatives will advise you.
  • Supporting documents with no application will be held only 30 days.

Include a $50 non-refundable application fee payable to Palmer College of Chiropractic with your application.

Request that your official transcripts (including all high school, summer school programs and college) will be sent directly to the address above. If you are still attending another school, ask that the transcript be forwarded when available.

What Happens Next?

  • The Undergraduate Studies Department is the only official source for your application status. We'll notify you in writing.
  • We'll also notify you as we receive your documents and regarding your current status.
  • Your file must be complete before we may accept you.
  • Once accepted, we must have your $50 deposit within 21 days.
  • Your first-term tuition is due on orientation day.
  • If you do not begin class in the term you applied for, and we are unable to contact you, we will destroy the application file. Should you contact us later, you will need to begin the application process again.
