Position Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Department: Facilities

Employment Status: Full time, Non-exempt
Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. w/occasional overtime required

Description of Responsibilities: The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical, plumbing, equipment, carpentry, buildings and grounds for the college facilities. Duties will include operation of skid loader, snow plow, sidewalk salter, grounds mower and tractors for lawn care.

Position Qualifications Required: High school diploma or equivalent; five years related maintenance experience with electrical, plumbing, carpentry and building repairs; knowledge of and experience using small hand and power tools, electrical meters and tools, plumbing tools and equipment and snow removal and lawn maintenance equipment, including tractors; a valid driver’s license; fork lift certification and be insurable. Candidates must be able to lift objects in excess of 50 pounds and willing to continue with additional education and training in the maintenance field.

Position Title: Library Assistant

Department: Library

Hours: Sunday – Thursday 2:30p.m. – 11:00p.m.

Description of Responsibilities: The Library Assistant is responsible for the successful completion of a variety of assigned tasks and projects supporting the Access, Collection Management, Information & Instruction and Special Services departments. This position will perform data entry to various library databases, records and accounts, both computerized and manual; verify accuracy and completeness of data; order materials, verify invoices and materials received; maintain and prepare complete and accurate statistical reports as assigned.

Position Qualifications Required: Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent plus two years additional related education and at least one year of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic knowledge of MS Office and database software also needed.

Position Title: Clinical Project Manager- Offsite

Department: Research

This is a temporary position for grant funded clinical trials in Bethesda, MD

Description of Responsibilities: The Clinical Project Manager-Offsite is responsible for providing project-specific support by implementing research and data protocols for projects conducted by the Palmer Center for Chiropractic Research in offsite locations. This position will be based in Bethesda, MD. The Clinical Project Manager will perform eligibility screens, collect provider-related data and enter into paper data collection forms or web-based applications; generate project management reports and assist in the preparation of project reports for assigned projects; and monitor clinical and data protocols for assigned research projects.

Position Qualifications Required: Requires a bachelor’s degree. A clinical degree (e.g., D.C., M.D., R.N., P.T) or certification as a clinical research professional preferred. Experience in clinical research projects desired.

Position Title: Research Grant Specialist

Department: Financial Affairs

 Description of Responsibilities: The individual in this position is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive financial compliance program. Responsibilities include oversight of the financial aspect of grant management for the Palmer Center for Chiropractic Research. This position reports to the Controller, manages financial aspects of federal and non-federal grants and collaborates with the Principle Investigators on related activities including compliance with government regulations, agency specific requirements, development of budgets and college policies/procedures related to grants. The Research Grant Specialist will prepare detailed financial reports submitted to federal agencies, accounting for expenditure on each individual award, and fully reconciling these reports. Expertise in the administration of federal contracts /grants and accounting principles is required.

Position Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree preferred; five years of related experience in federal financial grant management and supervision; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Position Title: Biomechanics Research Assistant

Department: Palmer Center for Chiropractic Research

Description of Responsibilities: The Biomechanics Research Assistant will assist with federally funded grants on spinal biomechanics. The individual in this position is responsible for conducting research for and assisting in the administration of assigned duties. The Research Assistant will facilitate biomechanics data collection and data reduction programs; conduct library literature searches, including searching computer databases; assist in force, motion, and electromyographic activity measurements.

Position Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Electronics Engineering; one year or less related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with Matlab, LabView, MathCad, and other computer languages desired.

Position Title: Collection Management Librarian, Faculty

Description of Responsibilities: Applications are invited for a full time faculty appointment with the David D. Palmer Health Sciences Library. Primary assignments include but are not limited to original & copy cataloging of item & digital collections, particularly those held in Special Services. Cataloging format assignments will include unique monographs, pamphlets, dissertations, theses, annuals, periodicals, other serials, journals, electronic media, other metadata & audiovisual. Assignment will include collaboration in the creation & development of metadata standards for digital collections & specific digitization projects.


Position Qualifications Required: ALA-accredited MLS. Demonstrated knowledge of & experience with current & emerging national cataloging standards, metadata standards & practices. Demonstrated knowledge & experience with Collection Management principles, protocols & current trends. Demonstrated familiarity of & performance with integrated library management systems, SirsiDynix preferred. Minimum two years appropriate cataloging experience, academic or health sciences library preferred.

Description of Responsibilities: The role of the part-time clinician is to provide high quality evidence-based patient care while mentoring students to be successful doctors of chiropractic. The part-time clinician is responsible for monitoring and assessing interns’ performance in the clinic environment, including patient evaluation, patient management, record keeping and professional behavior.

Position Qualifications Required: Doctor of Chiropractic degree with 3 years minimum experience as a field doctor or chiropractic educator; Current/active Doctor of Chiropractic license for the State of California; active/current California Permit for X-Ray Supervisor/Operator; CPR Certification; Eligible to participate in the treatment of Federal Entitlement (Medicare) programs.
