Licensure

Applicants for licensure bear the responsibility to see that their applications are properly processed. The Student Administrative Services Office is an informational source with briefs of the requirements for licensure in the 50 U.S. states and in many international jurisdictions. For the most current information, the particular jurisdiction should be consulted.

Professional Opportunities

Located in Davenport, Iowa, the Office of Professional Opportunities assists graduating students and recent graduates in establishing their practices or in finding suitable associateships, partnerships or externships. The office also serves established chiropractors in the sale of their practices and in finding qualified associates or externs and maintains used-equipment listings. Cities and towns in need of a chiropractor often contact the office directly. Chiropractors and students can find this information on the Palmer Professional Opportunities Web site at http://ads.palmer.edu.

Professional Opportunities utilizes the vast network of alumni as a support group to assist the new generation of chiropractors in developing successful practices. Sample resumes and licensure information, chamber of commerce directories and other information is available.

Palmer’s commitment is to offer assistance to students and graduates so they may achieve their professional goals. For questions or assistance, please contact the PCCF Student Administrative Services.

Employment Prospects

Employment for Doctors of Chiropractic, according to the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Outlook Handbook 2004-2005 edition, is expected to grow faster than average through the year 2012.

They are engaged in private practice or working as “associate doctors” with established Doctors of Chiropractic.
