PHSL's Collections are searchable through its internet accessible online catalog. Audio Visual CollectionThe Audiovisual Collection includes any media other than print media. Items in this collection are subdivided by media type. Within the media type, they are arranged on the shelves by their LC classification numbers. There are audiotape programs, videotape programs, slide programs, biological models and specimens. Audiovisual items are assigned a collection code of Non-Circulating AV (NAV) or Circulating AV (AV). These codes appear in the call number field of the Bibliographic Detail display when doing a search in the local system. Circulating AV items may be checked out of the library or checked out to another library through the Interlibrary Loan service. Circulating CollectionPalmer Health Sciences Library's Circulating Collection is continually developed primarily for its students, faculty and staff. The collection is the most comprehensive on-campus chiropractic and health sciences collection in the chiropractic profession. The collection focuses upon all aspects of chiropractic. The initial collection contains about 400 volumes, with up to 20 new titles to be added each month. netLibrary eBook Shared CollectionPHSL has purchased access to a Shared Collection to over 9,000 electronic book titles, plus access to additional thousands of free electronic book titles, housed on the netLibrary server. Reference CollectionThe Library maintains a separate Reference Collection of books that are to be used in-house and do not circulate outside the Library. These are books that librarians and library patrons frequently consult to answer a wide range of questions. Examples of these types of Reference books include: atlases, bibliographies, dictionaries, directories, encyclopedias, indexes and many of the clinical sciences classic textbooks.
