D.C. Curriculum

Responding to the many changes affecting not only chiropractic, but health care in general, Palmer College West has developed a curriculum that continues the Palmer tradition of excellence in chiropractic technique and philosophy while expanding emphasis on chiropractic patient care management and the doctor of chiropractic's role as a primary health care provider.

The Clinical Practice Curriculum standardizes the student's first 10 quarters at Palmer College West to an average of six or seven classes, approximately 32.2 hours of class time. The curriculum is divided into tracks of courses that emphasize specific areas of instruction. Classes are linked by common subject matter over a period of several successive quarters, which emphasize the development of primary care skills as listed.

  • Chiropractic Clinical Evaluation
  • Chiropractic Technique and Management
  • Foundations of Chiropractic Practice
  • Problem Solving in Differential Diagnosis
  • Radiographic Interpretation

Palmer College West's Clinical Practice Curriculum, through extensive clinical, business and field-training programs, continues the Palmer tradition of excellence in chiropractic technique and philosophy while expanding emphasis on chiropractic patient care and the doctor of chiropractic's role as a primary health care provider.

Palmer College West offers an intensive educational program that initiates clinical training nine months into students' chiropractic studies, offers a minimum of two and a half years adjusting experience in a patient management format, and provides real world experience as part of the core curriculum. Palmer College West graduates doctors especially proficient in their clinical, business and communication skills, which helps to ease the transition into practice and prepares students for professional success.
