Journals

The Library has a collection of more than 9,000 journals. The Palmer College West Library maintains subscriptions to more than 200 magazines, journals, and newsletters. The selection criteria is from The Brandon List, and from titles on the Canadian List of Books and Journals. More than 400 other titles have been obtained without cost to the College by the Library Director and staff over the years. These titles complement the curriculum and increase research resources available in the Library.

Current printouts and a catalog of the journal titles are kept in a binder at the Circulation Desk. Current journals are on the tiered shelves in the front area of the Library. Past issues of journals are placed on shelves underneath the current issue. Older journals are shelved together on free-standing journals shelves in alphabetical order by title. Current issues of journals may circulate for two hours. Older issues circulate for one day, unless there isn't a check-out card in the bound volume or issue, which means it is not available for general circulation to anyone other than Palmer College West faculty.
