Financial Aid

Palmer College of Chiropractic West is eligible to participate in various financial aid programs. Assistance in applying to these programs is provided by the Financial Aid Office, where detailed information and application forms are available. It is the responsibility of the students to inform themselves about available financial aid opportunities and programs.

Federal regulations require all applicants for financial aid to complete a needs analysis. The needs analysis application used at Palmer West is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. Completion of the FAFSA is the first step for students who plan to apply for financial aid. If you would like to receive a financial aid packet please e-mail delgado_n@palmer.edu

How Is Aid Determined?

The campus-based programs (Federal Work-Study and Perkins Loans) are need-based student financial aid programs. Under each program, the college must determine whether or not a student has financial need. The college determines a student’s financial need by subtracting his/her expected contribution (the amount the student may reasonably be expected to contribute toward the student’s educational cost) from the College’s budget. The Financial Aid Office also considers outside sources of aid or benefits (such as scholarships, fee waivers and tuition reimbursement) in determining your financial need. Eligibility is determined by completion of FAFSA.

Loans are applied for every academic year (nine months) while campus-based programs are awarded on a 12-month basis.

Drug Convictions May Affect Your Student Aid

Students convicted of various drug offenses will lose their student aid eligibility for specified periods of time depending upon whether the conviction was for use or sale and by how many times they have been convicted. Students may resume eligibility upon successful completion of a Department of Education-approved rehabilitation program.

Transfer Students

Transfer students who would like to receive financial aid should request a financial aid packet from Palmer West and complete the required documents. If a FAFSA has already been filed you must add the Palmer West school code (015135). Once your paperwork is complete and advance standing has been determined, the amount of your award can be determined.
