Advising

Palmer West provides the following types of advising services, free of charge, for its students and their families.

Academic Advising

Academic advising is a faculty function. Faculty members are available to discuss their courses and other academic concerns with students on an individual basis.

General Advising

General advising services are also available and include, but are not limited to: development of study skills, management of test anxiety, managing the transition anxiety from classroom to clinic, dissemination of information relevant to dealing with family and/or marital pressures, personal growth, documented learning disabilities, drug and alcohol abuse and dependency, and advice on appropriate outside resources and agencies in the area. Appointments with the Student Adviser can be scheduled in Student Services. All advising sessions are held in the strictest of confidence.

International Advising

International students may obtain information about their non-immigrant status, optional practical training and other immigration concerns from the Director of Student Affairs.

Disability Support Services

Students seeking information or reasonable accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act should contact the Student Adviser.

If you require a reasonable educational accommodation, you must submit documentation of your disability to the Student Adviser prior to the beginning of classes.

All appointments with the adviser are scheduled in the Student Affairs office. All advising sessions are held in the strictest of confidence.
