Dean of Academic Programs

Message from Dan Weinert, D.C., Dean of Academic Programs

Welcome to the Academic section of the web site pages. For those viewers interested in pursuing a chiropractic education, you have come to the right place. Palmer College students taking the Doctor of Chiropractic program experience a rigorous, competency-based health sciences curriculum that prepares them to serve society as primary contact physicians. The science, art and philosophy of chiropractic provide the foundation of Palmer's chirocentric (chiropractic focused) curriculum. Through chirocentric education at Palmer, students learn how each course studied and their clinical experience fit into understanding human beings as whole organisms. They do not just focus on what is commonly called disease but on wellness for the human body and mind. In addition, with the expanding availability and use of computer technology on campus, instructional delivery and student access to information are changing rapidly.

Academic Affairs is comprised of units of faculty delivering the curriculum by discipline.  Life Sciences includes the disciplines of Anatomy, Physiology/Biochemistry and Pathology; Diagnosis and Radiology; Technique; Philosophy and Practice; and the clinical training experience.  Also under the umbrella of Academic Affairs are the Library and the Undergraduate and Graduate Programs. Palmer offers a certificate and associate of arts degree in chiropractic technology, a Bachelor of Science degree in general science, a Master of Science degree in anatomy and diplomates in radiology and chiropractic rehabilitation through multi-year residency programs.

The faculty at Palmer College are committed to chiropractic and chiropractic education. The strong Palmer heritage has produced a stable faculty with many years of relevant teaching and clinical experience. Palmer faculty serve as mentors and role models for students preparing to enter this dynamic field of health care.
