Literature Searches

Literature searches can be performed on a variety of topics ranging from chiropractic to other health-related disciplines. Searches will be performed using the most appropriate databases. The results will be comprised of a bibliography of relevant citations based on the subject matter you specify and are subject to limitations of the databases searched.

*It is important to note that literature searches will not contain the full-text of journal articles. It will contain references (often abstracts) to the full-text, giving you enough information to find it full-text in a library.

Cost
$25/topic for Palmer Alumni
$50/topic for non-Palmer alumni

Payment
The Palmer Business Office will send a bill in the mail for completed literature searches.

Turnaround Time
Search results will typically be performed within 24-72 hours.

Full-Text options
Since literature searches do not yield full-text results, you many still want obtain the entire article. You have a few options in doing so. You can use the Palmer Health Sciences Library to copy available articles from the literature search (there may be articles listed on the literature search we do not own) or visit your local public library and ask them to order them on your behalf (usually for a nominal fee). Another option is Palmer Health Sciences Library offers a Document Delivery service which is $12/article plus royalty fees in which the article would be sent to you.
