Rental Policies

EligibilityOutdoor Recreation Program Rental equipment is available to all Palmer students, faculty, and staff.  Palmer students have first priority.  A security deposit may be required.  Members must be 18 years or older to reserve or rent gear. 

Reservations must be paid in full at the time of reservation.  Reservation cancellations must be made three days prior to pick up date to be eligible for refund.  A credit card must be provided as a security deposit when reserving or renting equipment. 

Renters will be charged for repair or full replacement cost of damaged or lost equipment.  Cleaning and drying fees are charged for returning dirty or wet equipment.  The renter is charged $15/hour for cleaning or drying.  Renters are responsible for full replacement cost to damaged equipment.

No refunds will be made for equipment rented but not used.  The renter assumes sole liability for any injuries or damages received while using the equipment

Renters are responsible for the prompt return of their equipment.  Equipment is expected to be returned in good condition (less ordinary wear and tear) and on time; dirty or damaged equipment is subject to additional charges.  Unpaid charges for damages or cleaning could be deducted from your title four loans.

Procedures

Pick Up
-
Equipment can only be picked up on the day the rental period begins.  If the member needs to pick up the gear any earlier, he/she must make prior arrangements.
- A pick up time must be coordinated in Student Services.
- Equipment is located in the fitness center and should be picked up there at coordinated time. 

Rental Periods
-
Daily - Equipment can be returned same day or the next day.
- Weekend - Equipment is to be picked up Friday and returned Monday.  Holiday weekends count as regular weekends.
- Week - Equipment may be out a maximum of 8 days, including pick up and return days.
- You can keep something for longer than 7 days at different rates.

Equipment Contracts
The Outdoor Rec General Equipment Reservation Check-Out Contract is a legal and binding agreement between the participant/user and Palmer College of Chiropractic.  It needs to be fully understood by the equipment user.

Returning Equipment
Upon return, equipment will be set-up or operated with the renter present to check for damages.
