Palmer - YMCA Childcare Center

  1. What hours are you open?
    7 a.m. — 6 p.m., Monday through Friday
  2. What are your fees?
    $170 per week for children 6 weeks to 2 years old, $145 per week for children between 2 and 3 years old and $130 for children 3 and older. We may accept third-party payments.
  3. There is also a $10 discount a week to those who have a YMCA membership.
  4. What holidays are you closed?
    Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Labor Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving Day.
  5. Will I have vacation credit?
    There is a credit of 2 weeks of vacation time a year (52 weeks) if your account is up to date.
  6. What is your policy on sick children?
    Parents will be called to pick up a child who becomes ill. Children must be picked up within an hour. A child will be considered ill when he/she has a fever over 101 degrees, vomits, experiences two episodes of diarrhea or is obviously suffering from a contagious illness. If a child is sent home with a temperature of 101 degrees or above, that child must remain out of care 24 hours unless there is a note from the child’s physician stating that the child is not contagious.

    10% off the oldest child.

  9. Can my child bring his/her own lunch from home?
    Nutritious meals are provided. Children are not able to bring food from home unless a physician’s note is present, stating a reason for the necessity. (example: allergies)
  10. Will you give medication if needed?
    If your child needs medication, you must fill out our medical authorization form.
  11. Is there a fee if I pick up my child after 6 p.m.?
    Yes. You will be charged $5 for each 15-minute block of time you are late (example: if you are 30 minutes late, you will be charged an extra $10).
  12. Is there a summer activity fee?
    Yes, there is a fee that enables children 3 years and up to go on field trips.
  13. Do the children go outside to play?
    Yes, we try to go out every day, weather permitting. Children must be dressed appropriately.
  14. Can my child take swimming lessons while at the Center?
    Yes, if they are 3 years old or up, we will transport them to classes at the downtown YMCA. Gymnastics classes are also an option.
  15. When is tuition for the week due and can I pay once a month?
    The Friday prior to care; you may make monthly payments as long as you are paying in advance of care.
  16. Can my child bring his/her own blanket and pacifier?
    Yes, we do allow personal items that help our children rest easier.
  17. Does my child have to take a nap?
    They are expected to rest.
  18. Do you serve breakfast?
    No, but a nutritious morning snack will be served at 8:30.
  19. Are physical examinations required?
    An admission physical examination report must be submitted for all children 5 years of age or younger, within 30 days from the date of admission. That report must be signed by a licensed M.D., D.O., physician’s assistant or advanced registered nurse practitioner.
  20. Do you require immunizations?
    All state laws will be enforced. Check with the center for forms and specific details.
  21. Will part-time care be available?
    No. We are set up to handle full-time care only.
  22. Will credit card payment be possible?
    Yes.
