Susan Burns has worked at the David D. Palmer Health Sciences Library for more than 20 years, from 1978 to 1980 and from 1986 to the present. She earned her B.A. degree in Library Science from the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, in January 1966. For the next four years, she worked in a public and a high school library. She earned her M.L.S. (Masters in Library Science) from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, in 1970. She then worked for one year on a bookmobile which provided library services to elementary schools in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She worked for one year as a Readers Advisor in the Davenport Public Library. In Palmer’s library, she has worked in various capacities, including circulation, Special Collections, reference, collection development, acquisitions and cataloging of monographs. She is a member of the Iowa Library Association and the Association for the History of Chiropractic
