Due to Halloween falling during the week
of the upcoming break, Palmer's Davenport Campus Trick-or-Treat took
place Wednesday, Oct. 13. Students and employees were invited to bring
their costumed little ones to trick-or-treat at departments throughout
campus and enjoy healthy snacks at the after-party in the Cafeteria.
More than 125 children participated in the fun, which included a costume contest by age, couple and group categories.
Many
departments handed out treats, and five (including Human Resources,
Financial Planning, the Business Office, the Campus Health Center and
the Academic Health Center) participated in the best theme/costume
contest. The unanimous winner was the Business Office with their 50's
diner theme. The winner receives a pizza party, and the rest of the
participants receive Dilly Bars from Dairy Queen.
"This
is my favorite event on campus," said Minda Powers-Douglas, Marketing
and Public Relations. "My four-year-old daughter has had a blast each
year, though I've enjoyed it long before she was even born. It's a great
opportunity for students and employees to come together to celebrate
with the whole family."
Special thanks go out to Student Services for planning and hosting the event.
Said Lora Clevenger of Student Services, "I love this event also. It's a lot of fun, and everyone seems to enjoy it!"
