Join area volunteers on Wednesday, Sept.
1, for the United Way 2010 Day of Caring. Presented by Alcoa, the United
Way Day of Caring is a community-wide event that connects volunteers
from businesses, corporations, union groups and donors, with local
non-profit organizations to work on various projects that would not

Volunteer
teams and community members will set out to complete either half-day or
full-day projects from 9:30 a.m. to Noon, 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., or
9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Projects can be designated as half- or full-day
events. Before signing up for any of these projects, please ask your
supervisor. Those who are approved by their supervisor to participate
will not have to use vacation or personal time to participate. To be
part of this event you must register with Christina Perlberg by
