The Public Health Club presents a special program to recognize
National Public Health Awareness on Tuesday, April 12, 5-7 p.m. in the
Cafeteria.
Guest speakers include Dr. Monica Smith, of the
Palmer Center For Chiropractic Research, and 2003 West alumnus Dr.
Andrew Cohen, director of ProActive Chiropractic in San Francisco (www.proactivesf.com).
Dr. Smith, who also is affiliated with the UCSF Institute for Health
Policy Studies, will discuss, “Public Health ... Adverse Drug events ...
And Chiropractors: What’s the Connection?” Dr. Cohen, a past National
SACA chair who also served as national student rep for the chiropractic
section of the American Public Health Association, will discuss how his
involvement with APHA, SACA and other chiropractic associations helped
prepare him for practice — and why he continues to say involved nearly
10 years later. The program will conclude with a Q&A panel session
with the two guest speakers.
This special program will also
feature complimentary refreshments (courtesy of Chutney Restaurant, with
locations in San Francisco and Fremont), so please make sure to sign up
in advance: at the Public Health Club table on Club Day (April 8), or
the sheet posted on the Public Health Club bulletin board. Watch for
details regarding other Public Health Club activities planned for the
spring quarter.
