Palmer College will have a strong presence, once again, at the California
Chiropractic Association’s annual Legislative Conference, on Tuesday, May 10, in
Sacramento. The West Campus is partnering with the Santa Clara County CCA
district to get students and doctors “on board” for this important annual event
by providing bus transportation to the State Capitol.
The CCA Legislative Conference is a great opportunity
for the collective chiropractic voice to be heard, as you’ll meet with state
legislators and discuss key healthcare-related issues with individuals involved
in the policy-making decisions that impact the future of the profession in
California. Such decisions can often trigger a ripple effect throughout the
country.
“The West
Campus has always taken great pride in having one of the largest student
delegations each year at the CCA Leg Day event, and we’re equally proud of the
number of West graduates who’ve continued to serve the profession as CCA
officers at the district and statewide level,” said West Campus Associate
Professor Dr. Gary de Wet, who is also the student CCA faculty adviser.
“Palmer is committed to
action that serves our alumni and the profession,” said West Campus President
Dr. Bill Meeker. “We are very excited about our strong participation at the
California state political level, just as we were at the National Chiropractic
Legislative Conference earlier this year in Washington, D.C.”
You are invited! Bus
transportation will be provided to and from Sacramento. This provides a great
opportunity for students and doctors to discuss “key topic” issues, and prepare
for afternoon appointments with state legislators. The bus will depart from the
West Campus (90 E. Tasman Drive at N. First St. in San Jose) at 7:15 a.m., and
will leave from Sacramento at approximately 4:30 p.m.
The West Campus will
host a pre-trip continental breakfast for students and doctors at 6:30 a.m. in
the cafeteria conference room.
Registration for CCA members is $50 (until May 3);
$100 (May 4-10).
