Florida Campus showcased at Palmer Connection
10/13/2010 (Archived)
Academic and career
advisors and science educators from local and national colleges participated in
the Palmer Connection held on the Florida Campus on Saturday, Oct. 9. Designed
to provide information about Palmer’s Doctor of Chiropractic Dual Degree
Program, participants learned about the chiropractic health care profession,
toured the campus and talked with faculty and students.
“I was very pleased to
see the level of interest in chiropractic among the career advisors and
educators in attendance. They all asked intelligent and probing questions in an
attempt to better understand chiropractic in order to answer questions they felt
their students may have. I came away from the Palmer Connection event with a
very positive feeling toward developing true working relationships with the
Colleges represented,” said Donald Gran, D.C., M.S. Ed., Dean of Academic
Affairs.
Attending
the event were representatives of nine institutions from six different states.
Mitch Pietras of
Daytona State College shared the following comment: “It was an eye opener for me
personally, and I believe I can do a much better job with students interested in
going to Palmer College. You all should be very proud of the students who acted
as guides. They were very confident, poised and knowledgeable and a wonderful
representation for themselves and Palmer College. Thank you for the opportunity
to visit the Port Orange campus. This was just a great experience.”
