9/21/2010 (Archived)
Palmer’s Florida Campus
was well represented at the Halifax Health 5K/10K Run & Walk with a student
team of fifteen runners, two of whom finished first and second in the 5K.
Anthony Harris, fifth quarter, and Craig Henry, eleventh quarter, were the first
two runners to cross the finish line during the Sept. 19 event.
Palmer’s Clinics joined
the Daytona International Speedway, the Daytona Beach News-Journal and
Halifax Hospital as gold sponsors.
Palmer provided
additional resources for this year’s event through the Campus’ Sports Council,
who offered sports chiropractic services to the participants.
More than 700 runners
and walkers completed the Port Orange course, which was held at the Port Orange
City Center next door to the campus.
Halifax Health’s
Johnnie Carrow, event coordinator, said, “Palmer College has become an integral
part of our event. Everywhere you look, you see the Palmer name. We thank them
for helping us celebrate the spirit of caregiving.”
