Palmer Research Clinic

James Boysen, D.C., M.S.

Study Coordinator 

Dr. Boysen has over 17 years of clinical experience and holds a Master’s degree in clinical research. He performs project-specific patient management protocols for screening, enrolling and managing patients and their visits. His role includes conducting eligibility screens, describing each study to participants and obtaining informed consent, performing eligibility assessments and data collection, ensuring data integrity and panel participation for eligibility determination.

Therese Devlin, B.S.

Clinical Research Associate 

Ms. Devlin has 17 years of research experience and performs project-specific patient management protocols for screening, enrolling and managing patients and their visits. Paige Morgenthal, D.C., M.S.

Research Clinician 

Dr. Morgenthal, with more than 30 years of clinical experience, joined the research clinic team in 2010. She holds a Master’s degree in Kinesiology and Health Promotion and has 20 years of experience as teaching faculty and chair of the technique department at Los Angeles College of Chiropractic. Dr. Morgenthal assists in refining and standardizing clinical management protocols, performs examinations, provides care to research participants and is a member of the eligibility determination panel.

Jennifer Negron, B.A.

Research Participant Coordinator 

Ms. Negron is the lead telephone interviewer and scheduler in the Research Clinic. She coordinates telephone screening and participant scheduling. Ms. Negron’s role includes performing preliminary eligibility assessment, scheduling participant examinations and study visits, and functioning as the primary contact person for the Research Clinic.

Michael Seidman, M.S.W., D.C.

Research Clinician 

Dr. Seidman has more than 29 years of clinical experience in private and multi-disciplinary practice settings. He holds a Master’s degree in Social Work and has been a member of the research clinic team since 2009. Dr. Seidman assists in refining and standardizing clinical management protocols, performs examinations, provides care to research participants in clinical studies, and is a member of the eligibility determination panel.

Robert D. Vining, D.C.

Senior Research Clinician, Assistant Professor 

Dr. Vining has over 22 years of clinical experience in private practice, academic and research settings. He has directed Palmer’s Research Clinic since 2008. His role includes oversight of staff training, development and implementation of clinical and diagnostic protocols, case management, and eligibility determination for all research participants. He also performs examinations and provides care in clinical studies.
