Recruitment Incentives and Scholarships

Contact your admissions representative for application dates. 

Criteria:  Must be a full-time student and must maintain a min 2.75 GPA after the 1st trimester to receive the award each trimester. Application should be made six months prior to admission to Palmer College. Contact the International Admissions Representative for an application.

Criteria:  Must be a prospective student with a minimum 2.75 overall GPA for all undergraduate work.  A written application (click on link to the left) and a one-page essay outlining the applicant’s Chiropractic philosophy is required. Recipients are selected by the Admissions Committee.

Fall 2013 application deadline is September 3rd, 2013. Contact your Admissions Representative for additional information.

Elmer William Ferguson Endowed Scholarship: One $1,500 award  recurring  for each of the 10 trimesters in the DC program, totaling a $15,000 award.

Criteria:  Must be a prospective student with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Demonstrated involvement with on-campus and extracurricular activities will be viewed positively.  Must have two letters of recommendation from faculty members.

Dr. Paul and Alice Peterson Endowed Scholarship Fund for Visually Impaired Students: 

Criteria:  A $1000 or more award will be distributed annually to one or more students.  Preference give to those applicants with a visual handicap meeting the legal definition of being legally blind in both eyes. Consideration given to prospective students who have a minimum 2.75 GPA in undergraduate studies. If no applicants meet the visual impairment then consideration will be given to students with other physical impairments.

Michigan Chiropractic Foundation Endowed Recruitment Scholarship: One $800 scholarship available 

Criteria:  Applicants must be a prospective student from Michigan applying at any of Palmer's campuses with a minimum overall 2.75 GPA.  Qualified applicants shall submit a scholarship application and an essay of 500 words or less on the following: 1) How did you come to the decision to pursue chiropractic as a career?  Why did you choose Palmer College as your chiropractic college, and what plans have you made for entering the profession once you graduate?  2) What is your view of chiropractic's role in public healthcare?  3) Discuss your individual qualifications as a student in a first professional doctoral program.  Qualified applicants should contact their admissions representative to obtain an application.

Merit Scholarships

Criteria:  Applicant must be a full-time Chiropractic Technologist student in good standing enrolled in 2nd trimester or above.  Preference will be given to single parents or students who are married with children.

International Scholarships

Criteria:  Entering 4th tri/above, min 3.0 GPA, a member of Quebec or Canadian Club planning to return to Canada to practice; submit a paragraph describing financial need.

Criteria:  Resident of Pacific Rim country.

Criteria:  Minimum 2.5 GPA. Full-time international student in good academic standing. Preference given to 6th tri or above. Financial need will be the primary consideration.

Criteria:  Italian resident who is returning to Italy to practice. Full time enrollment and in good academic standing is required. Preference will be given to students with: Financial need, seniority at Palmer College, and merit.

Memorial Scholarships

Dr. Salvadore and Edna Abbatiello Scholarship:  

Criteria:  1st tri./above, 2.0/above GPA, (1st tri. app.s will be considered on undergrad GPA), preference to NJ resident or those who express interest in practice in NJ.

Criteria:  Graduate of University of Northern Colorado or Colorado resident.

Dr. Herbert F Bahr Memorial Endowed Scholarship: 3  awards

Criteria: Applicant must be a full-time DC student in good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 2.75.  Preference is given to students from Wisconsin; however all students are encouraged to apply.

Criteria:  Arkansas resident who will practice in the state.

Dr. Stanley and K.M. Dale Minority Endowed Scholarship: One award.

Criteria:  Minority student, preference given to a black student from Milwaukee, Wisconsin; however, all minority students are encouraged to apply.

Criteria:  7th tri/above. Min. 2.50 GPA. Must possess strong clinical skills & a passion for chiropractic, as well as have completed one tri of clinic. 2 letters of recommendation are required stating the student’s clinical abilities and commitment to chiropractic.

Criteria:  New Jersey resident with minimum 2.75 GPA.

Dr. Palmera Kabana Memorial Endowed Scholarship: .

Criteria:  Applicant must be a full-time female DC student entering 6th tri/above with a min. 3.25/above GPA. Must be at least a second generation chiropractor and write a 500-word essay on "the importance of community service and role it will have in your practice" or "the influence your chiropractic family member had on you following in their footsteps and why you chose chiropractic as a profession".

Criteria:  Must be a full-time Davenport student in good academic standing with a minimum 2.0 GPA. Must be in 4th trimester or above.  Preference given to applicants from Indiana; however all students are encouraged to apply.

The Lucas Memorial Scholarship: .

Criteria: Applicant must be a full-time D.C. student in 5th trimester or above with a minimum 3.25 GPA.  Financial need will be the primary determinant.  A 500 word essay, double-spaced and typed, on what led them to pursue a chiropractic education is required along with the institutional scholarship application.

Dr. and Mrs. Luther Frondal: Three awards.

Criteria: Minimum GPA of 2.8/above, full-time student in good standing, preference given to a 2nd career student, preference given to student from WI and MN but open to all applicants, including international students.

Criteria: New York resident in seventh trimester or above, minimum 3.75 GPA.

Criteria:  Florida resident, minimum 2.50 GPA, fifth trimester or above.

Criteria:  Must be a full-time student in good academic standing. Preference given to students with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Financial need will be a secondary consideration. An introduction letter outlining leadership qualities, activities on campus sin in the community, and vision for impacting the profession after graduation is required.

Criteria:  Preference shall be given to those students who have achieved a 3.0 or above GPA, student enrolled in the 4th trimester or above,and those with an interesst and involvement in outdoor activities, i.e., hunting, fishing, sports, etc.  Qualified applicants will submit an essay on why they feel qualified to receive the scholarship, emphasizing both their love of chiropractic and outdoor activities.  Applicant must hail from the Deleware Peninsula (Deleware or the Eastern shores of Maryland).

Criteria:  Alaska resident who will practice in state, fifth trimester or above, good academic standing. Award will be made to applicant with highest GPA.

Lensgraf Family Memorial: One award.

Criteria:  Preference given to students from MN or ID, or Alberta, CANADA.  Must be a first generation chiropractic student with a 3.0 GPA in 3rd tri/above. An essay on: "Why I chose a career in Chiropractic" is to be included with the institutional application.

Criteria:  In fourth through eighth trimester, minimum 3.00 GPA, full-time status.

Criteria: In fourth through eighth trimester, minimum 3.00 GPA, full-time enrollment.

Dr. Norman H. Miller: One award.

Criteria:  Be at least a 2nd generation student, supply names of family members and where they practice.  Essay on "How does subluxation and it's removal work to get people well?"  Must have a 3.0 GPA or above and be in 4th trimester or above.

Criteria: Preference to a Wisconsin resident; however all are encouraged to apply minimum 2.0 GPA, involvement in extracurricular activities, full-time enrollment.

Criteria: Preference given to a Wisconsin resident intending to return to Wisconsin to practice; however all are encouraged to apply.  A minimum 2.0 GPA is required.

Criteria: Reside in Henry, Lee, or Des Moines counties in IA, in good academic standing.

Dr. William F. & Barbara J. Holmberg Endowed Scholarship: One award.

Criteria: Must be a full-time student in good standing - preference given to students entering 7th tri/above.  Financial need will be the primary determinant.

Criteria:  West Virginia resident.

Criteria: In 4th - 8th trimester with minimum 3.00 GPA, full-time enrollment.

Dr. Hugh Williams: .

Criteria: Minimum 3.5 GPA, full-time student in good academic standing.  Financial need will be primary consideration for this award.

Criteria:  Applicant must be a full-time student in good standing and be in 2nd tri/quarter or above with financial need.  Preference will be given to diagnosed dyslexic students (documentation required); however all student are encouraged to apply.

Criteria:  Colorado resident with minimum 3.00 GPA.

Olivia Lynn Pyne Memorial: .

Lena Maude Rankin: 

Criteria:  5th tri/above, making satisfactory academic progress, demonstrate financial need.  Number of dependents and desire to be a chiropractor will be considered.

Dr. Clark Rich Memorial: Two awards

Criteria: Minimum 2.8 GPA, 3rd tri./above, from PA and plan to return to PA to practice, submit 2 pg. double spaced essay on how  you plan to practice "Straight" chiropractic only and you chiropractic philosophy.  Applicants are to refer to the essay introduction and prepare the required essay in response to the question at the end, addresing your direction in the profession and your practice.  Click this link for the essay introduction.

Criteria:  Female student, minimum 3.00 GPA, second trimester or above.

Dr. Dennis Semlow Scholarship:  Two awards.

Criteria: Must be enrolled on the Davenport Campus of Palmer College in 5th tri/above, 2.50/above GPA, preference given to applicants who are from MI, however, all others are encouraged to apply, a short essay discussing the topic, "How your life has been influenced by chiropractic." must be submitted with the institutional application.

Dr. Charles D. Smith Memorial Endowed Scholarship: .

Criteria: Applicant must be a full-time DC student in good academic standing with a min 3.5 GPA and be enrolled in 8th tri/above.  Preference will be given to students from Colorado; however all eligible students are encouraged to apply.  Financial need will be the primary consideration for awarding this scholarship.

Dr. Lulu McLeod Stevenson Memorial Endowed Scholarship: 3 awards.

Criteria: Applicant must be a full-time student on the Davenport campus in good academic standing.  Preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need, strong potential for Chiropractic success, and success in extra-curricular activities.

Criteria: Florida resident, fourth trimester or above, minimum 2.50 GPA. 

Dr. Clarence R. Will Memorial: .

Criteria: All applicants must be a full-time student in good standing, be entering 5th trimester or above and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.  Preference will be given to a Michigan resident, with secondary preference given to a student who plans to practice in Michigan.

Endowed Scholarships

Criteria:  Must be a full-time student in good academic standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA and be in 4th trimester or above.  Applicant must have matriculated from Australia and intend to return to Australia to practice for a minimum of 5 years.

Criteria:  Illinois resident who will practice in the state; attach a 1 page essay explaining financial need and why you plan to practice in Illinois, minimum 3.0 GPA.

Dr. Anita Bigo Endowed Scholarship: 

Criteria: Applicant must be a full-time DC student in good academic standing with a min 3.5 GPA and must be involved in extra-curricular activities.  Preference given to students from Pennsylvania and to students with financial need.

Dr. John Bottorff Sr.: One award

Criteria:  Must be in 4th trimester or above.  Preference will be given to students who are from IN, however others are encouraged to apply. 

Campus Guides Endowed Scholarship: 

Criteria: Applicant must be making Satisfactory Academic Progress and not be an Officer in Campus Guides.  Primary determining factor is service term and length of service is secondary.

Dr.s Mary Ann Chance & Rolf E. Peters Endowed Scholarship: 

Criteria: Applicant must be a full-time International student at the Davenport campus who is in good academic standing and enrolled in 4th trimester or above.  Student must be involvement in extra curricular activities.  Preference will be given to students with demonstrated financial need or those students who have shown great leadership in college activities (scholarship is to be given as an honor award rather than for only financial need).

Edward Cloud Research Scholarship: One Award

Criteria: Must be a full-time student in good standing and have recently completed or be working on a research project on Chiropractic at Palmer.

Dr. Glenn and Leigh Doty Endowed Scholarship: .

Criteria: Applicant must be a full-time Davenport DC student in good standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 and be enrolled in 3rd trimester or above.

Criteria:  New York resident who will return to the state to practice, full-time enrollment, minimum 3.0 GPA, fifth trimester or above.

Harry J. Engle Gift Scholarship: 3 awards

Criteria: Student mus have a minimum GPA of 3.0/above.  Financial need  shall be the primary determinant of a recipient and academics the secondary.

Criteria:  Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and must be of full-time enrollment.  Be a graduate of a Broome County, New York, high school or Broome Community College or have completed two years at a state university in NY.

Criteria:  Applicant must be a full-time Davenport student in good academic standing with a minimum 2.5 GPA.  Preference is given to students from North Dakota, Minnesota, Montana and South Dakota; however all students are encouraged to apply.

 Criteria:  Applicant must be a full-time Davenport student in good academic standing and be in 5th trimester and above. 

Dr. Michael McPeak Endowed Scholarship: .

Criteria: Must be a full-time student in good academic standing with a minimum 2.75 GPA and be enrolled in 1st trimester or above.  Preference will be given to students from Ohio; however all are encouraged to apply.  Financial need will be the primary determinant.

Criteria:  This scholarship is offered to married couples, both of whom are enrolled full-time and in good academic standing in the D.C. program. Couples in the seventh trimester or above shall be given preference. Financial need shall be a major determining factor as well as merit and academic standing. U.S. citizens shall be given preference. Submission of a copy of marriage license is required along with the application.

Dr.s Arthur and Esther Mork Sorority: .

Criteria: Applicant must be a full-time student in good academic standing.  Preference will be given to a member of the Sigma Phi Chi Sorority; however all are encouraged to apply.  Financial need will be the primary determinant.

Dr. Agnes High Palmer Endowed Scholarship Fund: .

Criteria:  Full-time female student in good academic standing.  Preference given to 4th trimester and above.  Financial need will be the primary determining factor.

Criteria:  Must be a full-time student of African-American descent, U.S. or international, in good academic standing. Must be in 3rd trimester or above and be involved in the community and other organizations on/off campus.

PCCIAA International Endowed Scholarship: two awards available.

Criteria: Student must come from a country outside the US and be a resident of that country.  Preference will be given to a student who desires to practice in their home country.  Student must be a full-time student in good academic standing, preference will be given to those students with a 2.5 and above GPA.

Criteria:  Student must be a member of PSAF (all students are a member) and should be active in a student state association. Must be in good academic standing and making Satisfactory Academic Progress; must have successfully completed the 3rd trimester. Consideration will be focused on financial need along with students involvement in extra curricular activities (student clubs, student council, PSAF incolvement and athletics are beneficial and considered advantages). Student should exhibit a commitment to Chiropractic and demonstrate their understanding of the philosophy, science and art of Chiropractic as the capability for success as a Chiropractor will be considered.  An essay on "What is mu role as a future Palmer Alumnus" is required.

Criteria:  Full-time student in good academic standing. Preference given to those applicants with a visual handicap with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Financial need will be a secondary consideration. Preference given to prospective students, however if there are no prospective applicants the scholarship will be offered to active students.

Criteria:  Min 2.5 GPA. Student must be in good academic standing and enrolled in 2nd-9th trimesters. Financial need will be the primary consideration in the selection process.

Dr. F. Roese Endowed: .

Criteria: Student must be a full-time student in good academic standing who is enrolled in second trimester or above.  Preference will be given to students from Indiana, however, all are encouraged to apply.

Criteria: Full-time student in good academic standing entering the 3rd trimester or above. Applicants are to submit a brief statement with their application describing their faith, commitment to living a Christian lifestyle and their involvement in church activities and Christian centered organizations. Preference given to members of Palmer's Christian Club, if one is currently active; however, all Christian students meeting the above listed criteria are encouraged to apply.

Student Council Endowed Scholarship:  .

Criteria:  Min. 3.0 GPA, 5th tri./above at time of application, served as class officer in either president, vice-president, treasurer, or secretary for 3 consecutive trimesters.  Letter from student services verifying such position.  Current member of student council does not qualify.  Past members that meet the above criteria are eligible to apply.

Dr. Arthur L. Warta: .

Criteria: Full-time student, 2nd tri./above in good academic standing, preference given to students who are from Kansas, however, others are encouraged to apply.

Dr. Ray and Thelma Willis: One award available

Criteria: 4th tri./above, full-time student in good academic standing, VA resident who plans to return to VA to practice, with preference given to an applicant from southwest VA, attach proof of residency and the PCC Institutional Scholarship Application.

Dr. Ralph Cook Woods and Dr. Ronald W. Woods Eagle Scout Endowed: .

Criteria: 2.0 GPA, incoming students must have demonstrated 2.0 in undergraduate studies, demonstrated involvement in community activities. Submit photo copy of Eagle Scout certificate with the Institutional Scholarship application.

Leadership Recognition Scholarships

Criteria:  Excellent leadership qualities, as well as involvement in campus and off-campus organizations. Applicants are nominated by their peers. The selection of recipients is made by the Vogt Leadership Society Scholarship Committee. Classes are notified each trimester by the selection committee to submit nominations.

Scholarships for Campus Organizations

Criteria: Applicant must be a full-time student in good standing and a member of the Student International Chiropractors Association (SICA) with demonstrated need for financial assistance.  Applicant's spouse or significant other must be a member of the International Chiropractor's Association Auxiliary (ICAA).

Criteria: Member of Student International Chiropractors Association (SICA) and must be in seventh trimester or above.

Morgan, M.H. (Jack) and Mary Morgan:  .

Criteria: Member of Delta Sigma Chi Fraternity, involvement in extra-curricular activities, a typed 3 page maximum essay on one of the following subjects: "Innate: Mystery or Magic?", "Volume Practice in Chiropractic", or "Why chiropractic must remain separate and distinct from medicine"-submit the essay with scholarship application.

Other Institutional Scholarships

Criteria: Must be entering fifth trimester or above; service to PCC and chiropractic through involvement in organizations such as, but not limited to: ICA, PSAF, ACA, or Student Council.  Must be enrolled full-time and in good academic standing.

Criteria: Must be a full-time student in good academic standing, demonstrated need for financial assistance, preference given to a student who has a desire to provide service to the poor as demonstrated by their involvement in community service. Must be enrolled to attend Clinic Abroad and provide a letter from the CA Coordinator as proof of trip enrollment.

State Specific (Non-Memorial) Scholarships

Criteria:  Must be a resident of Alabama and plan to return to AL for at least one year to practice. Full-time status and in good academic standing with a 2.0 GPA-preference is given to those who have achieved a GPA of at least 3.0 at Palmer; students must be in 2nd trimester or above, but preference is given to those in 4th trimester or above. Applicants must submitt a one paragraph composition titled "Why I Choose Chiropractic and What My Chiropractic Future Will Involve" along with the institutional scholarship application.

Criteria:  Must be a resident of Arizona and plan to return to AZ to practice. Be a full-time student and in good academic standing with a minimum 2.0 GPA, but preference will be given to those who have achieved a GPA of at least 3.0 at Palmer and have demonstrated involvement in college and/or community extra-curricular activities.  Students must be in 2nd trimester or above.  Equal consideration will be given to financial need and merit(merit is defined as involvement in extra-curricular and/or community activities).

PCCIAA California State Endowed: One award available

Criteria: Applicant must be a California resident with a minimum GPA of 2.0, preference is given to applicants entering 4th trimester or above; however, all California residents are invited to apply.

PCCIAA Colorado State Endowed Scholarhsip: .

Criteria: Applicants must be a resident of Colorado, have a minimum 2.25/above GPA, demonstrated financial need, and be in the 3rd trimester or above.

PCCIAA Connecticut State Endowed Scholarship:  One award available.

Criteria:  A full-time student in good standing.  Must have been a resident of CT prior to matriculation, preference given to students with GPA of 2.25/above while at Palmer, 2nd tri/quarter or above, financial need will be primary consideration.

Criteria:  Florida resident who will return to Florida to practice, full time and in good academic standing. Minimum 2.25 GPA and enrolled in the 5th tri at time of application.

Criteria:  Georgia resident, students in 1st trimester or above are welcome to apply; minimum 2.25 GPA or better; involved in extracurricular and/or community activities. 

Criteria:  Must be a full-time student in good academic standing; Be an Illinois resident and plan to return to Illinois to practice.  Applicant must have a minimum 2.0 GPA and be in 4th trimester or above.  Emphasis for this scholarship is participation in the Palmer Illinois Club and/or interest and involvement in extra-curricular activities espousing the 33 principals of chiropractic.

Criteria:  Iowa resident who will practice in Iowa. Minimum 2.75 GPA with full-time status and in good academic standing. Must have demonstrated involvement in college extracurricular activities and/or community activities. Qualified applicants will submit a two-page essay explaining “What it means to stand in the light in my community.”  The essay will be the primary determinant of selecting the recipient.

Criteria:  Indiana resident who will return to Indiana to practice. Full-time status and in good academic standing with a 2.25 GPA, students in 1st trimester or above are welcome to apply, involvement in college extracurricular activities. Essay explaining the significance of the subluxation in the maintenance and restoration of health required.

Criteria:  Kentucky resident who will return to Kentucky to practice. Full time status in good academic standing. Minimum GPA requirement of 2.25. Demonstrated involvement in college extra-curricular and/or community activities is required. Must be entering 2nd tri. or above at the time of application.

Criteria:  Minimum 2.25 GPA, must be a resident of LA with intent to return to LA to practice, demonstrated involvement in college extra-curricular and/or community activities and financial need will be given equal consideration.

Criteria:  Michigan resident, academic achievement, full-time enrollment.

Criteria:  Maine resident and planning to return to ME, minimum 2.25 GPA, 1st trimester or above, demonstrated involvement in extra-curricular or community activities will be the primary consideration, financial need will be secondary.

Dr. Joseph Mazzarelli Memorial, New Jersey State: One $750 award available (recipient will get $250 per tri for three trimesters)

Criteria:  New Jersey resident, preference to students with a minimum 2.25 GPA, active member of PSAF and/or New Jersey Club.  Essay outlining "My purpose as a chiropractor and my goals after graduation".  Essay will be the primary determinant.

Criteria:  Full-time student in good academic standing, be a resident of Massachusetts and will return there to practice. Minimum 2.25 GPA with demonstrated involvement in college extracurricular activities and/or community activities. Applicants will submit an essay on: “How do extracurricular activities enhance and influence my preparation to become a D.C.” The essay will be the primary determinant for awarding the scholarship.

PCCIAA Michigan State Endowed Scholarship: .

Criteria:  Preference will be given to students with a minimum 2.25 GPA, involved in MI Club, PSAF member (all students are a member), involvement in extra-curricular activities, submit essay on "Chiropractic's purpose in society" and "My vision of chiropractic"-with scholarship app.

PCCIAA Minnesota State Endowment Scholarship: .

Criteria: Resident of MN, min. 2.25 GPA, will be entering 2nd through 10th trimester.

PCCIAA North Carolina State Endowed Scholarship: One award available

Criteria: Applicants must be a resident of North Carolina who plans to return to North Carolina to practice; must also be a full-time student in good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0.  Equal consideration will be given to financial need and involvement in college extra-curricular and/or community activities.

PCCIAA North Dakota State Endowment Scholarship: One award available.

Criteria:  Preference given to students with minimum 2.25 GPA, applicant must be from North Dakota, entering 6th tri. or above when awarded, have demonstrated involvement in college extra-curricular activities.

PCCIAA Ohio State Endowment Scholarship: One award available.

Criteria:  OH resident who plans to practice in OH, member of  PSAF (all students are a member), min 2.25 GPA, demonstrate involvement in campus extra-curricular activities and/or community activities, submit a brief statement titled "Why I want to practice in OH".  Applicant must be in 2nd tri./above when awarded.

PCCIAA Oklahoma State Endowed Scholarship: One award available

Criteria: Applicant must be a full-time student in good academic standing in 2nd trimester/above with a minimum 2.25 GPA and must have been an Oklahoma resident prior to matriculation.  Financial need will be the primary consideration in the selection process.

PCCIAA Oregon State Endowed Scholarship: One award available

Criteria: Applicant must be a full-time student in good academic standing in 2nd trimester/above and must have been a resident of Oregon prior to matriculation.  Preference given to those who have achieved a GPA of at least 2.25/above at Palmer.  Financial need will be the primary consideration in the selection process.

• Two Letters of Recommendation that include comments on applicants Extracurricular Chiropractic Activities & Leadership Skills, awards, projects, and outstanding accomplishments can be submitted.
• Documentation form supporting active membership and/or leadership in extra curricular activities, chiropractic clusb and/or relevant chiropractic organizations.  Awards, projects adn outstanding accomplishments can also be submitted.

Criteria:  From NY and plan to return to NY, 2.25/above GPA, students in 1st tri or above are welcome to apply, involvement in extra-curricular activities and/or community activities, Submit essay addressing the topic: "What do you see as chiropractics role in the future of health care?", along with the scholarship application.

Criteria:  Resident of South Carolina planning to return to SC to practice, full-time enrollment status with a minimum 2.25/above GPA, 1st trimester or above, emphasis for the award will be merit, academic achievement, demonstrated involvement in extra-curricular/community activity a plus., financial need will be a secondary consideration.

PCCIAA South Dakota State Endowed Scholarship: 

Criteria: Applicant must be a full-time student in good academic standing in 2nd trimester/ above who is a resident of South Dakota (the intent to return to SD to practice is not a requirement).  Preference will be given to those students who have achieved a GPA of at least 2.25 at Palmer. Financial need wil be the primary consideration in the selection process.  A one page single-spaced essay titled "The Value of Chiropractic Care in a Person's Life" is required along with the instutional scholarship application.

Criteria:  Must be from NE, Submit essay indication (1) why you wish to become a chiropractor, (2) person or event which was mainly responsible for your decision to attend Palmer College, and (3) summarize high school or undergraduate academic, athletic, and extra-curricular activities, must show a well-rounded high school background, have an active scouting backbround, demonstrate merit and achievement. 

Criteria:  Tennessee resident planning to return to Tennessee to practice.  Must have a minimum 2.25 GPA is required.  Must be in 1st tri./above.

PCCIAA Texas State Endowment Scholarship: One award available

Criteria: Minimum 2.25 GPA, entering 2nd tri./above, demonstrated involvement in extra-curricular activities, must be Texas resident who will return to Texas to practice.

PCCIAA Utah State Endowed Scholarship:  

Criteria: Applicant must be a full-time student in good academic standing in 3rd trimester/above; preference will be given to those students who have achieved a GPA of at least 2.25 at Palmer.  Student must have been a resident of Utah prior to matriculation.  Financial need will be the primary consideration in selection.

Criteria:  2.8/above GPA, 1st tri./above, interest and involvement in extra-curricular activities, from VA and planning to return to VA after graduation.

Criteria:  Washington resident who will return to Washington State to practice. Full-time enrollment status with a minimum of 2.25/above GPA, must be entering 2nd tri./above, must be from WA and plan to return to WA to practice.

Criteria:  Must be a full-time student in good academic standing and be in 5th tri or above.  Preference given to students with a 3.0/above GPA, 1st tri./above, must be a West VA resident and show involvement in extra-curricular and/or community activities.

Criteria:  Must be a resident or native of WI and a full-time student in good standing, involvement in an on campus professional organization, submit an essay of 500 words or more on "How do you see chiropractic's role in health cares place in the world today", applicant should be involved in supporting Palmer Chiropractic College as well as the chiropractic profession.  Campus Guides, Vogt Leadership Society, Student Council, as well as involvement in chiropractic professional organizations are good examples. Cumulative GPA and state of residency will be a secondary consideration after the evaluation of the essay and involvement; financial need will be a consideration only when other criteria are equal.  Submit essay with scholarship application.

State Specific Grants

Criteria:Delaware resident with financial aid need. Must complete financial aid application form by April 15 each year. Criteria:

Gift Scholarships

Biofreeze Performance Health:  4 $1,000 awards available.

Criteria: Must be in 2nd through 6th trim0ester at the time of the application, minimum 2.5 GPA.  Student must have a strong record of accomplishment in academics.

Dr. Frank Daskalos Gift Scholarship: One award

Criteria:  Scholarship will be given to an student from Indiana.

Miracles for Military:  

Criteria: Full-time student in good academic standing w/US veteran status, 2.0/above GPA and enrolled in either the DC or the CT program, financial need will be primary consideration.  Submit a copy of your DD-214with the PCC Scholarship Application.  Submit a brief statement:  In a few sentences describe what this award would mean to you, how it will benefit you, as well as when and where you served in the military. 

The Standard Process - Florida Chiropractic Association Gift Scholarship: One $2,500 awards available for the Winter Quarter

 Criteria: Applicant must be a full-time student in good standing who is enrolled in 2nd quarter or higher and is a Florida native (persons who hail from Florida and is a permanent resident - not persons who gained residency by attending college in Florida).  Scholarship will be given to applicants who demonstrate outstanding leadership for the Chiropractic profession either through involvement in student government or through Chiropractic Associations. A short required essay on "Is using nutrition to supplement your chiropractic practice any more important now than it was in 1895?" must be submitted with the completed scholarship application.

The Dr. James A. Glisson Gift Scholarship:

Criteria: Must be a full-time student in good academic standing enrolled in 2nd quarter or above.  A short essay is required demonstrating involvement in the political process and public relations for chiropractic through college or community activities while enrolled at Palmer College, Florida Campus, or during undergraduate education as well as why it is important to be involved.

Dr. Robert R. Walper Memorial Endowed Scholarship: One award available

Criteria: Applicant must be in the 4th quarter or above at the time of application and have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.  The student must also be a Florida resident (the intent of the donors of this schoalrship is to award the funds to a student who hails from Florida and is a permanent resident, not of a student resident status only).

Dr. Jack Hendricks Memorial Scholarship: 

Criteria: Must be a full-time student and a member of the Florida Chiropractic Association.  Applicant must be in 8th quarter or above; preference will be given to those students who have a GPA of 3.0 or above.  Must have a history of leadership in student government or on-campus club service.  A 500 word essay on "My plan to be a future leader in my profession" is required along with the scholarship application.

The Standard Process Gift Scholarship: One $2,500 award available. 

Criteria:  Applicant must be a full-time student in good standing with a minimum 2.9 GPA.  Must provide a list of contributions to the chiropractic profession, college and/or community along with a letter of recommendation.  A 500-750 word essay is required answering the question, "How would you incorporate whole food nutrition into your chiropractic practice and explain how you will use whole food nutrition as part of a patient's comprehensive wellness program?".

The Dr. Frank Farkas Gift Scholarship: One $3,000 award for the Spring Quarter

Criteria:  Must be a full-time student in good standing enrolled in 2nd quarter or higher.  An essay is required along with the scholarship application demonstrating involvement in the political process and public relations for chiropractic through college or community activities while enrolled at Palmer College, Florida Campus, or during undergraduate education and why it is important to be involved. (previous recipients are ineligible to apply)

Scott Laliberte Memorial Endowed Scholarship: One award available

Criteria:  Applicant must be a full-time student in good standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA.  Preference will be given to a Campus Guide.

Mid-Florida Chiropractic Society Endowed Scholarship: 

Criteria: Must be a full-time student in good academic standing enrolled in 2nd quarter or above.  Applicant must be a Florida resident from one of the following counties: Alachua, Marion, Citrus, Sumter, Lake, Madison, Taylor, Hamilton, Suwanee, Lafayette, Dixie, Levy or Gilchrist or be a graduate of the University of Florida.  Preference will be given to students who either demonstrate involvement in extra-curricular activities through campus clubs/organizations and/or community involvement OR have a 3.0 or higher GPA.  A short essay on one of the following topics is required: "Why is it so important to be involved in a chiropractic organization, such as the FCA, after graduation?" OR "Chiropractic is three-fold: science, art and philosophy.  What does this mean to you and to your future practice?" 

Miracles for Military Scholarship: 

Criteria:  Must be a full-time student in good standing with a minimum 2.0 GPA and have U.S. Veteran status.  Applicant must provide a copy of their DD214 along with the scholarship application and required breif statement describing what this award would mean to you, how it will benefit you, as well as when and where you served in the military.  Financial need will be the primary determinant for selecting a recipient.

The Standard Process - Florida Chiropractic Association Clinic Abroad Gift Scholarship: One $2,000 award available for the Spring Quarter

 Criteria: Must be a full-time student in good standing who is enrolled in 2nd quarter or higher and is a Florida native (persons who hail from Florida and is a permanent resident - not persons who gained residency by attending college in Florida).  Preference will be given to the applicant who will use this scholarship to fund his/her clinic abroad trip and who would not be able to participate in the trip without this assistance.  A short required essay on "Where would you like to travel on your Clinic Abroad trip?  How would this money help you and how would it help the people whom you would serve?" must be submitted with the completed scholarship application. Student MUST be going on the next scheduled Clinic Abroad trip to be eligible to apply.

Dr. Palmera Kabana Memorial Gift Scholarship:  

Criteria: Must be a full-time female D.C. student in 6th quarter or above who is a member of the Student Florida Chiropractic Association.  Preference will be given to students with a 3.0 GPA or higher as well as those students who are from Florida.  Applicant must have a history of political involvement and/or community service.  A 500 word essay on "The importance of community service regarding chiropractic practice" is required.  Previous recipients are not eligible to apply. 

The Dharma Endowment Foundation - FCA CLinic Abroad Gift Scholarship: One $2,500 award available.

Criteria: Must be a full-time student in good standing enrolled in 2nd quarter or higher.  Preference will be given to the applicant who will use the schoalrship to fund his/her clinic abroad trip and who would not be able to participate without this assistance.  A short essay is to be submitted along with the scholarship application answering the following questions: "Where would you like to travel on your Clinic Abroad trip?",  "How would this money help you and how would it help the people whom you would serve?".  The intent of the donors of this scholarship is to award the funds to a student who hails from Florida and is a permenant resident of the state - not a student only resident.  Student MUST be going on the next scheduled Clinic Abroad trip to be eligible to apply.

The Dr. Fletcher L. and Janet M. Parker Scholarship: 

Criteria: Applicant must be a full-time student in good standing in 2nd quarter or above.  Preference is given to those applicants who are diagnosed as dyslexic (documentation to confirm the diagnosis must be supplied); however all are encouraged to apply.

Marie Michaels Memorial Scholarship:  One $2,500 award available  

Criteria:  Applicant must be a full-time DC student in good standing who is in 4th quarter or above and is a member of the Student Florida Chiropractic Association.  A 500 word essay is required on one of the following topics: "What do you feel is important in building a successful and viable practice?" or "How does chiropractic fit into the healthcare arena?" or "Where do you see chiropractic in 20 years?".  Preference will be given to students with a cumulative GPA of 3.0/above and those students who are from Florida or have attended one of the Florida colleges.

Performance Health/Biofreeze Student Scholarship: 

Criteria: Applicant must be a full-time student in good standing in 3rd - 7th quaters with a minimum 2.50 GPA.  Must have a strong record of accomplishment in academics and school/community involvement.

The Dr. John & Marion Staples Endowed Scholarship: One award available 

 Criteria:  Applicant must be a full-time student in 4th quarter or above.  Preference will be given to students with financial need.

Academic Achievement Scholarship: Multiple awards available each quarter

 Criteria: Applicant must be a full-time student in 9th quarter or higher at the time of application and have a minimum 3.9 cumulative GPA. 

Dr. Donald P. Kern Endowed Scholarship:  One award available

 Criteria:  Applicant must be a full-time student in good standing entering 2nd quarter or above who has a paper that is either accepted for review, in press, or published by a peer-reviewed journal (paper must have been completed while matriculated at Palmer).  A brief statement must be submitted with the completed scholarship application describing the nature of the scholarship applicants contribution to both the study and the paper (contact the Financial Planning Department for separate document listing rating criteria).

Academic Merit Grant:  

This scholarship is automatically awarded to new students twice in the first and 13th quarters. No application is necessary. Awards are as follows: $5,000 for a GPA of 3.75 to 4.00; $3,000 for a GPA of 3.5 to 3.74; and $2,000 for a GPA of 3.25 to 3.49.

International Grant: 

This grant program is available to Palmer's West Campus students who are not citizens or permanent residents of the United States. The program does not apply to international students who hold dual citizenship (e.g., Canadian/U.S. citizenship). Students who meet the eligibility criteria will receive the grant set at a 25% tuition discount per quarter for full time enrollment for each quarter he or she is enrolled at the West Campus and maintains a minimum cumulative 3.00 GPA. Contact your Admissions representative or the Financial Aid Office for further details and specific application procedures.

Married Students or Siblings Grant:  

This grant is open to those Palmer students who are brother(s)/sister(s) enrolled simultaneously or to students who are married prior to entrance at the West Campus. The program does not apply to students who marry while enrolled at the West Campus. The award is $500 per spouse or per sibling per quarter. To continue receiving the award, both students must maintain a 3.00 GPA while enrolled at the West Campus. Full-time enrollment is not mandatory to receive the award; it will be pro-rated according to enrollment status (i.e., quarter-time enrollment = 25% of the scholarship; half-time enrollment = 50%, etc.). If for any reason either recipient withdraws from school or takes a “leave of absence” for more than one quarter, he or she must resubmit an application to determine eligibility prior to the quarter in which re-enrollment is planned. Contact your Admissions representative or the Financial Aid Office for further details and specific application procedures.

Dr. Peggy Sherman Annual Endowment Scholarship: 

This $750 scholarship is for students who have completed the first three (3) quarters of chiropractic college with a minimum GPA of 3.00 and who have financial need. Based on participation in chiropractic and community activities, as well as quality of essay.

West Campus Book Grant: 

This $100 grant is for students in 4th quarter with a minimum GPA of 3.00. This grant is awarded to the top three (3) outstanding students in specific science courses. (Based on availability please check with the Financial Planning Office.)
