Afua Adjei-Kwayisi

‘I will be the first combined-care doctor in Ghana’

In less than a year, Afua Adjei-Kwayisi will become the first medical doctor in Ghana to also graduate as a Doctor of Chiropractic. And she is on a mission.

“I have a huge passion and high sense of mission to educate several millions of Ghanians and Africans on true wellness and the principles and holistic benefits of chiropractic care,” says Afua.

“Chiropractic is not well known in Ghana. Since it’s less invasive, it could be more accessible and cost effective to more people. It would provide immediate care to those needing it most,” she says.

Two years ago, Afua moved to Iowa to attend Palmer, leaving her daughter to live with Afua’s mother halfway across the world. But it was a sacrifice she was willing to make.

“Health care is scarce and only for people who can afford it,” she says. “I have a calling to make chiropractic care accessible to all as I care for as many families as possible.”

“What I’m most excited for is to help others and to help others understand.”
