Dr. William Lafferty will present “Controversies in Health Policy” on Tuesday, Aug. 28, from 1:55-2:45 p.m. in Room P205.
William Lafferty, M.D., is a professor of Medicine at UMKC, Kansas City. Formerly, he was a professor of health services at the University of Washington. He is the Hicklin Endowed Chair and heads the Office for Health Services and Public Health Outcomes Research at the School of Medicine at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He also is the deputy director of the Department of Biomedical and Health Informatics. Using large secondary datasets, Dr. Lafferty has worked on projects that seek to balance cost, access, and quality of health care in new areas that affect public health. He has published nearly 60 articles and is a nationally recognized expert in health services research and the economics of complementary and alternative care.
