Support Davenport’s Project Renewal by participating in the Run for Renewal April 20. Palmer College has been a long-time sponsor of Project Renewal’s “Run for Renewal” 5K run/walk and half-mile kid’s run, which is the major fundraiser for this non-profit organization that provides after-school and summer learning and activities for downtown children. In addition to Palmer’s regular sponsorship of the Run for Renewal, this year Palmer student groups are working together to assist Project Renewal’s efforts in a new and exciting way. They will be raising funds throughout the year in order to renovate Sister Concetta Park, which is across the street from Project Renewal and often used for activities, as well as the start and finish of the Run for Renewal each year. Look for more information coming soon about fundraising events for this worthy cause.
This year’s Run for Renewal is Saturday, April 20. The half-mile kid’s “Treat House Trot” starts at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K run/walk begins at 9 a.m. Both events start and finish at Sister Concetta Park, located at the intersection of 6th and Warren streets in Davenport. Registration is available online at www.GetMeRegistered.com, and packet pick-up is Friday, April 19, from 5-7 p.m. or 7:30-8:30 a.m. on race day at Project Renewal, 510 Warren St., Davenport.
