Twenty-two West Campus graduates
received their Doctor of Chiropractic
degrees at commencement ceremonies
on September 5 at the Santa Clara
Convention Center.
Jennifer Walker, Chowchilla, Calif.; and
Misty Detraiz, Marshfield, Wisc., were
valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively.
A. DeLoy Blanchard, Jr., Seattle,
Wash.; Kurt Stine, San Jose, Calif.; Karen
Naymik, Nashville, Tenn.; and Diana
Tole, Morgan Hill, Calif.; graduated with
Cum Laude honors.
Lynna Lies, Spokane Valley, Wash.,
received the Clinical Excellence Award,
while Min-Hsiao “Paul” Chen, Taiwan,
China, received the Student Fellow
Award. The Virgil V. Strang Philosophy
Award was given to Ian Hollaman,
Boulder, Colo. Landon Amonette, San
Diego, Calif.; Ian Hollaman; Jana Hull,
Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; and Kenneth Kao,
Fort Collins, Colo.; received awards for
their service as Campus Guides.
Claire Johnson, M.S.Ed., D.C., DACBSP,
the editor of the Journal of Manipulative
and Physiological Therapeutics, presented
the commencement address, “The Future
of Chiropractic and the Legacy
of Palmer West.”
