In 2007, the Heritage Endowment Society was formed to honor those who have established a lasting legacy for Palmer through their support of the College endowment. During Palmer Homecoming on the Davenport Campus, approximately 110 people gathered on Aug. 7 to mark the society’s first year, including alumni, Board of Trustees members, administrators, spouses, friends, students and guests.

During the luncheon, Davenport Campus President Donald Kern, D.C., welcomed 17 new members into the Heritage Endowment Society, including alumni, friends and organizations. There were five new Society Members, 11 new 1895 Society Members and one new Silver Society Member.

“The Heritage Endowment Society recognition luncheon provided the opportunity for endowment donors and student scholarship recipients to meet,” said Senior Development Officer Lois Kundel, who coordinated the event. Attendees were encouraged to continue to support the College endowment, which in turn supports the students.

Other speakers included 10th Trimester student Jay Breitlow, who thanked endowment donors for their support and expressed his appreciation for the scholarships he and other students have received that assist them with their education at Palmer. He shared his dream of going to Madagascar to be the first licensed chiropractor there.

Following the luncheon, the Development Office hosted a CE seminar that included a panel of financial professionals such as CPAs, trust officers, financial planners, attorneys and others. They also discussed the financial, business, retirement and estate planning issues alumni face at different stages of life during practice.
