Members of the Davenport Campus Sports Council provide chiropractic
care for cyclists during a RAGBRAI stop in Tipton, Iowa. |
This summer, the route for the Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride
Across Iowa—or RAGBRAI—traveled through the Quad-City
area. Sponsored by the Des Moines Register, this year’s RAGBRAI
featured an estimated 15,000 riders. And when the race reached
Tipton, Iowa, on July 25, 12 students from the Davenport Campus
Sports Council met 115 road-weary participants. Free chiropractic
care was provided to them in special booths on the property of
Mark Niles, D.C., Davenport ’82, who sponsored the event.
“Our work at RAGBRAI was a great success,” said Sports
Council Faculty Advisor Ranier Pavlicek, D.C., Davenport ’01.
“Everyone did a fantastic job, from the students to faculty and
especially Dr. Niles.”
“I can’t thank Dr. Niles enough,” said Davenport Campus Faculty
Clinician Susan Larkin, D.C., Davenport ’82, who supervised students
at the event. “He not only gave us a place to work, but introduced
us to town volunteers and provided us lunch.”
