Commencement ceremonies on Oct. 24,
2008, in Vickie Anne Palmer Hall’s
Lyceum Auditorium on the Davenport
Campus, marked the graduation of 143
Doctor of Chiropractic, four Associate of
Science in Chiropractic Technology and
three Master of Science in Clinical
Research degree recipients.
Frank Klipsch, M.Ed., Ph.D. (Hon.),
president and CEO of the Scott County
Family YMCA, was the commencement
speaker. He reminded the graduates
that, “How you live your life and how
you deliver acts of service frames how
you’re known today and how you’re
remembered 20, 50 or 100 years in
the future.”
Awards were given to five valedictorians:
Jennifer Hinschberger, Klemme, Iowa;
Nicholas Hoyer, Manson, Iowa; Troy
Moore, Park View, Iowa; Nicole
Schmidt, Pacific Palisades, Calif.; and
Nicholas Weber, Osage, Iowa. Benjamin
Erlandson, Westby, Wis., received the
Virgil V. Strang Philosophy Award, and
Bradford DeWitt, Bettendorf, Iowa, won
the Clinical Excellence Award as well as
the John Connolly Memorial Award for
scholarship and involvement in Palmer
and community organizations.
The co-salutatorians were Aaron
Bannister, Davison, Mich., and Andy
Wei-hong So, Brampton, Ont., Canada.

Lisa Petersen, Ph.D., was the
