The 25th anniversary of
Palmer College of Chiropractic’s
West campus was celebrated
Oct. 7 and 8 during the
campus’ 2005 Homecoming
festivities.
“We had a collection of terrific
speakers and vendors, and it
was great to see Palmer West
alumni—some of whom traveled
from as far away as
Colombia and Alaska—on
campus,” said Gary de Wet,
D.C., Palmer West Homecoming
Committee chair. “The
weekend represented many
years of our history, and we
were excited to have so many
join in the celebration of our
25th anniversary.” Also on hand were Campus Guides and a
number of administrators, faculty and staff from Palmer’s
Davenport and Florida campuses.
Palmer West graduates spanning the life of the College attended
various activities throughout the weekend including the Palmer
College Alumni Student Recruitment Program (ASRP) event.
A highlight of the Homecoming banquet included the presentation
of a fellowship to Palmer West President Peter Martin, D.C.,
who became the newest Fellow of the Palmer West Academy of
Chiropractic.
Marilyn Smith, D.C., received a special award in recognition of
her 16 years of service as a member of the Palmer West and
Palmer Chiropractic University System Board of Trustees, which
included four years as chair of the Palmer West Board.
Homecoming entertainment events included a barbecue/talent
show/casino night on Friday and music by Silicon Vibe the next
night in the Santa Clara Westin Hotel’s grand ballroom.
