Staying in touch with alumni is
an important part of Palmer’s
Alumni Office. That’s why Assistant
Director of Alumni Lisa
Walden and I log a lot of miles
each year to visit the same events
that you and other Palmer graduates
are attending.
On a number of these trips we’re
accompanied by Dr. Tom Milus
from the West Campus or Dr. Ed Pappagallo from the Florida
Campus. Their input and hard work make it possible for us
to be a resource on all three campuses and allow us to attend
association events from Florida to British Columbia, Canada.
This winter’s Palmer Destination Success Continuing Education
Cruise gave us, as well as College administrators, faculty and
staff, a wonderful new setting in which to sit down and talk to
alumni. The more we understand the needs of our alumni, the
better we’ll be at providing you with the programs that meet
your needs.
For those of you who haven’t had a chance to meet with the
Alumni Office, we encourage you to visit www.palmer.edu. On the
“Alumni” home page, click on “Contact the Alumni Office” and
you’ll instantly have the opportunity to ask questions about the
new alumni program or tell us your latest accomplishments.
Plus, by providing us with your e-mail address, we can notify
you when our office and the Development Office will be
traveling to a town near you. It also allows us to update you on
the latest Palmer news through Palmer Highlights, the twice-amonth
e-blast.
One area in which Palmer has consistently made the news is
research. Check out this issue’s cover story to find out about the
breakthrough chiropractic research being conducted by Palmer
College through the Palmer Center for Chiropractic Research as
well as by faculty clinicians on all three campuses. Palmer is carrying
out the type of research that chiropractors can use every
day in their practices.
Palmer is also taking the lead in providing chiropractic students
the entrepreneurial skills they will need as chiropractors through
the Palmer Center for Business Development. For a story on
this innovative program, the first of its kind at any chiropractic
college, turn to page 5.
To find out firsthand what’s going on at Palmer, I encourage
you to attend Homecoming at a Palmer campus near you.
You can register online at www.palmerhomecoming.com. This
year’s theme is “Our Time is Now.” Talk with faculty, staff and
students. See the advancements Palmer is making in research
and in providing students with the tools they need to succeed.
If there was ever a time to be proud of what our alma mater is
doing, that time is now.
