The President’s Club gathered in the Welcome Center of the
Academic Health Center to celebrate the support its members
had made—both financially and personally.
“Your support keeps Palmer at the pinnacle of the profession,”
said Senior Development Officer Karla Johnson, who emceed
the event. “You set the standard for others to follow.”
Ms. Johnson highlighted the four recognition levels within the
President’s Club that were established this year. The GOLD level
(Graduates of the Last Decade), for example, has grown rapidly
with new graduates stepping forward to give back, excited about
their aspirations in reaching full President’s Club membership
through increased gifts over the years. Many others have given
above and beyond, and were recognized at the new upper levels
due to their generosity during the capital campaign.
Davenport Campus President Dr. Donald Kern, who created the
President’s Club in 1989 for donors pledging $1,000 or more, was
one of the evening’s speakers. Other speakers at the event included
Palmer Board of Trustees Chairman Trevor Ireland, D.C., and
Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement Bill Moreau, D.C.
“We appreciate not just your pledges but your time, your student
referrals and for honoring your alma mater,” said Dr. Moreau.
“Thank you for your love of Palmer College.”
