Thirty West Campus graduates received their D.C. degrees at commencement
ceremonies held Dec. 5, 2008, at the Scottish Rite Center in San Jose. Magna Cum
Laude graduates Marcie S. Morton-Sobelman, Los Gatos, Calif., and Kristina Marie
Blum, Spokane, Wash., were valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively.
Ryan Deubel, Mason, Mich., received the Clinical Excellence Award, while Iman
Tootoonchi, Vancouver, B.C., Canada, received the Student Fellow Award. Peter
Welch, Lakewood, Colo.; Kristina Blum, and David Saber, Milwaukee, Wis.,
received awards for their service as Campus Guides. Sara Jurgella, Eau Claire,
Wis.; David H. Lee, Vancouver, B.C., Canada; Daniel Rae, St. George, Wash.;
David Saber; and Iman Tootoonchi received awards for their service as executive
officers of Associated Student Government. Service
awards also went to West Campus Sports Council
executive officers Daniel Lord, Middleton, Wis.; and
Daniel Maldonado, Fairfield, Colo.
Former West Campus faculty member Robert D.
Mootz, D.C., Davenport ’80, now associate medical
director for chiropractic at the Washington state
Department of Labor and Industries, presented the
commencement address, “Direction, Opportunities
and Strategies.”
