Seventy-five alumni and guests enjoyed a seven-night Royal
Caribbean Cruise to the Southern Caribbean Feb. 19-26.
Highlights were 12 hours of CE on the adjusting, support and
rehabilitation approach to sports injuries by Kirk Lee, D.C.,
Davenport ’80, fabulous ports of call in St. Thomas, St. Kitts,
Aruba and Curacao, and a meeting with the Minister of Health
and Sport in Aruba, Richard Visser, D.C., Ph.D., West ’93.
“Through his position, Dr. Visser has had the opportunity to
increase the well-being of the citizens in a variety of ways,
including writing the first legislation for chiropractic in Aruba,”
says Assistant Director of Alumni Lisa Walden. “In fact, many
years ago his first chiropractic office was literally chained shut.
He was told he could not practice chiropractic in Aruba. The
person responsible for that decision now reports to him.”
