Iowa Governor Terry Branstad inspires Davenport Campus graduates - October 2011

Commencement ceremonies on Friday, October 21, in the auditorium of Vickie Anne Palmer Hall on Palmer’s Davenport Campus marked the graduation of 120 Doctor of Chiropractic, two Associate of Science in Chiropractic Technology, four Master of Science in clinical research and two Master of Science in anatomy degree recipients.

The commencement speaker was Iowa Governor Terry Branstad. Lance Jenkins, Sac City, Iowa, was the Valedictorian of the graduating class. Kacey Dupre, Opelousas, La., was the Salutatorian. Stephanie Makela, DeWitt, Iowa, received the Clinical Excellence Award, Magalie Ibarra Lefevre, Paris, France, received the Virgil V. Strang Philosophy Award, and Rosalind Placke, Calgary, Alberta, Canada, was the John Connolly Memorial Award winner for scholarship and involvement in Palmer and community organizations. Palmer Associate Professor Harvey Morter, M.S., was the Honors Convocation speaker.

Gov. Branstad also toured the campus with members of the College administration, Board of Trustees and student representatives. He also joined students, employees, alumni and guests at the post-graduation reception. To see a photo gallery of his visit, click here.
