Florida Campus students march as Spine in Port Orange Christmas parade
Thousands of area residents lined Dunlawton Boulevard to watch the 34th annual Christmas Parade held on Sunday, Dec. 4, in Port Orange. About 20 Palmer students donned the Spine costume, greeting spectators and tossing candy to excited children and families who enjoyed the annual event. The parade, which passed directly by Palmer’s Florida Campus, included floats, marching bands and organizations from the local community.
Tiffany Clark, a 10th Quarter student, who organized Palmer’s participation in the event said, “We all had so much fun. I was really impressed by the warm reception we received and the familiarity with Palmer. Hopefully we can do this again next year so other students get a chance to experience the fun.”
Palmer won first place in the parade for non-float entry.
