Palmer sports in the community

6/29/2012 (Archived)

Each year, the sport club teams at Palmer are required to perform community service. One of the annual events is the Madison School play day, which is held each spring at the school just north of the Davenport Campus on Locust Street.

"The kids look forward to seeing the Palmer students each year who bring new sporting experiences like lacrosse and rugby, sports most of these kids haven’t even heard of," said Athletic and Recreation Coordinator Ron O'Brien. "It’s also a great experience for our students who get to interact with the community."

Clubs this year have also helped out with Clean Davenport Day, the beautification of Credit Island Park and the Bix 7 Road Race.
