Palmer accreditation update

8/7/2012 (Archived)

In the past few weeks, Palmer College has received news of additional success in the area of accreditation. This most recent report follows a long-standing tradition of highly successful visits from accreditation officials and excellent reports from accrediting agencies—dating back to 1979 when Palmer first earned Council on Chiropractic Education accreditation and 1984 when the College first achieved Higher Learning Commission-North Central Association accreditation.

In July 2012, Palmer College received a notice from the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association that the Commission had accepted a report from the College on organizational structure and administrative responsibility/reporting. Palmer remains fully accredited. The College’s next comprehensive evaluation is scheduled for 2018-2019.

The College’s current accreditation status is that the Doctor of Chiropractic Degree Programs of Palmer College of Chiropractic’s Davenport, West and Florida campuses are fully accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education. As noted above, Palmer’s Davenport, West and Florida campuses also are regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association.
