More than 800 runners and walkers of all ages turned out on Sunday, Sept. 9, to take part in the 11th annual Halifax Hospice 5K/10K Run/Walk. Held at the Port Orange City Center, this year’s event attracted a record number of participants. The event, titled Celebrating the Spirit of Caregiving, honored families and friends who have recently lost a loved one and received services through Halifax Hospice.

Joining Palmer’s Florida Campus as event sponsors were the Daytona Beach News-Journal, Daytona International Speedway and Halifax Hospital.

“We owe a great deal to those who support us so we may be able to provide comfort and assistance to those in need. Palmer College’s continued support of Halifax Hospice helps us to accomplish our mission. We are very grateful for their sponsorship and the chiropractic services they provide on race day,” said Kahlin Adkins, special events coordinator.
