Student-run OP3 works for change
Operation Palmer Promotes Play (OP3), formed by Palmer student leaders who wanted to make a difference in their community, has received $9,375 in grant money from Scott County Regional Authority (SCRA) for Xgrass or SuperLawn to be installed under the new playground equipment at Project Renewal’s Sister Concetta Park. The OP3 students were also instrumental in helping Project Renewal secure $16,955 in grant money from the Roy J. Carver Charitable Trust to be used toward their park renovation project.
Once completed, the Palmer students will have raised more than $62,000 in a little over a year’s time to make Sister Concetta Park an amazing park for underserved children in Davenport, Iowa.
