Membership Rules

 

Who can use the facility?

  • Palmer students
  • Palmer Employees
  • Immediate Family Members of either students or employees. This means spouses and kids only.
  • Alumni
  • Pre-Palmer students with proof of enrollment. These students must sign in at the desk and verification must be checked with the enrollment list on the desk.
  • Aramark (cafeteria & cleaning company) and Per Mar (security) employees with special pass.

Who can not use the facility?

  • Anyone not mentioned above.
  • Children of students and employee’s can not bring their friends in to use the facility with out permission from Student Services.
  • General Scott Community College Students.
  • Central High School students or employees.

 Outside Groups

  • Outside groups are not allowed in the facility with out specific permission through Student Services.

 MUST BE 16 TO USE THE WEIGHT EQUIPMENT AND CARDIO EQUIPMENT.


Fitness Center General Facility Policies and Regulations

 

General Policies and Regulations

  • All patrons must enter and exit from the Main Entrance located at the southeast entrance of the facility.
  • All patrons must check in at the front desk.
  • Users assume normal risk; Palmer does not carry medical/accident insurance for members.
  • Palmer is not responsible for lost of stolen items.
  • Smoking is prohibited.
  • Bicycles are prohibited in the building.
  • No rollerblades, roller skates or skate boards allowed in the fitness center.
  • Non-scuffing athletic shoes must be worn on all athletic surfaces.
  • Proof of age is required to use the weight or cardio areas. Youth under 16 are prohibited form using either the weight room and cardio equipment.
  • Facility use is limited to students, employees, alumni and immediate family members.

Equipment Check Out

  • Equipment can be checked out at the front desk. An I.D. or keys must be left at the desk in exchange for items.
  • Person checking out any equipment is responsible for damaged or lost items.

Lockers

  • Lockers can be reserved per trimester. Registration is located in the Fitness Center main office.
  • Locker reservations must be re-applied for at the end of each trimester.
  • Locks must be removed from daily use lockers. Locks left on daily use lockers will be cut.
  • All lockers must be cleaned out over summer break.

Use of the fitness center is a privilege. Acceptable conduct must be observed at all times. Anyone violating policies, misusing equipment or engaging in inappropriate behavior, including verbal and physical abuse of employees is subject to immediate removal and loss of membership privileges.

Campus Recreation Mission Statement
Campus Recreation has a primary responsibility to contribute to the total development and enhancement of the Palmer College community through an accessible and comprehensive program. Campus Recreation includes recreational services, wellness, and club sports. Recreational programming works to promote healthy lifestyles, helps to develop positive attitudes, and serves to provide a variety of recreational opportunities.
