Furthering our Reach
Health care and Service
Anthony Lisi, D.C., West ’96, national director of chiropractic
services for the Veterans Health Administration, was named the
2017 American Chiropractic Association Chiropractor of the Year
This is the ACA’s highest honor. Dr. Lisi guided efforts to
establish the first federally funded chiropractic residency-training
program in the VA, now in its third year. A number of Palmer
graduates have been accepted into the residency program and some
of them became staff chiropractors at VA facilities.
Palmer Homecoming events were held in August 2016 (Davenport campus),
February 2017 (Florida campus) and May 2017 (West campus). A highlight
of the Davenport Homecoming is the Alumni Luncheon, when new Fellows
in the Palmer Academy of Chiropractic are inducted.
Palmer’s Florida campus opened a new clinic on Nova Road in Port
Orange. South Daytona/Port Orange Chamber of Commerce representatives
joined with Palmer officials in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open
the new clinic.
The Davenport Clinic in Palmer’s Academic Health Center was named #1
in the Locals Love Us chiropractor category for the 4th year in a row.
Palmer’s Port Orange Clinic welcomed hundreds of area children and
families to its annual Halloween event. Faculty, staff and interns wore
costumes and decorated the clinic for the popular celebration.
The West campus hosted the American Chiropractic Association’s western
regional conference on biomechanics and movement in June 2017. This was
the first of four conferences held across the country.
