Palmer Faculty Publish Paper
Palmer faculty and administrators published a paper in the June 2009 issue of the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics. The paper is titled “A Randomized Controlled Trial Comparing 2 Types of Spinal Manipulation and Minimal Conservative Medical Care for Adults 55 Years and Older with Subacute or Chronic Low Back Pain,” and was co-authored by Maria A. Hondras, D.C., M.P.H. Palmer Center for Chiropractic Research faculty; Cynthia R. Long, Ph.D., Director of the PCCR’s Office of Data Management Research; Ying Cao, M.S., PCCR; Robert M. Rowell, D.C., M.S., Davenport Campus Technique faculty; and West Campus President William Meeker, D.C., M.P.H.
Palmer Center for Chiropractic Research Begins Patient Recruiting for Low Back Pain Study Focusing on Muscle Function
Researchers at the Palmer Center for Chiropractic Research (PCCR) clinic facility, 741 Brady St., Davenport, on the campus of Palmer College of Chiropractic, are looking for more than 200 people with low back pain in the Quad-City community to participate in a unique study. It focuses on the relationship between back pain and possible abnormal function of the supportive muscles in the back. The study begins Jan. 12. Participants must have low back pain and be between 21 and 65 years of age.

Clinical Research Graduate Program
The Clinical Research Graduate Program is designed for D.C.s who want to gain competence in conducting clinical research. It forms the basis for the M.S. in Clinical Research program within the Division of Graduate Studies at Palmer.
