Sneak Peek of New David D. Palmer Learning Commons

Posted March 4, 2021

The Heart of Palmer’s Main Campus

The David D. Palmer Learning Commons is the heart of Palmer’s main campus inside B.J. Palmer Hall. It will offer students a multitude of spaces to study with peers, practice adjusting techniques and access learning materials in a stunning new space.

The finishing touches are being completed, and we’re counting down the days until it’s open.

In the meantime, take a look at some of the highlights:

  • The centerpiece of the space is a 23-ton monumental staircase architecturally inspired by spinal anatomy. The arches that frame the staircase were pieces of B.J.’s original clinic, and the entire space overlooks B.J. Palmer’s Clinic Gardens.
  • Technique courses will be taught in the Evan & Cynthia Beane Learning Lab featuring all-new adjusting tables. When the space isn’t being used for a class, Palmer faculty members will staff the space at scheduled times, allowing students even more opportunity for hands-on practice.
  • The Learning Commons houses the David D. Palmer Health Sciences Library, the largest collection of chiropractic works in the world. The space includes 76 study spaces that range from private spaces that accommodate one person to group study rooms that accommodate up to eight students.
  • Students can recharge with refreshments from Dave’s Coffee Corner, named after Dr. Dave Palmer, known as The Educator.
