“Athletes are my favorite population to work with and I knew I needed that knowledge to help them come out of their chronic injuries,” she said. “I fell in love with chiropractic care because there is something for everybody! There is so much to learn and so many specialties to pick from which gives every student incredible autonomy."
For the past year, Palmer graduates Drs. Gonzálaz and Mena have been part of the exciting world of CrossFit and sports chiropractic, caring for some of the world’s best athletes.
Woo witnessed the struggle of the health care system firsthand when he served his mandatory two years in the South Korean military. He wanted to be able to help people by getting to the root cause of their pain, without having to rely on prescription drugs or surgery.
“Palmer was the most welcoming and the only school with an understanding of functional neurology. Where the other schools had none, Palmer Florida has three professors with neurology diplomates I can turn to for answers. I love that the professors encourage their students to continue learning,” she said. The 15-minute drive to the beach certainly didn’t hurt!
“I loved that at Palmer we were able to learn so many styles of adjustments which allows us to care for such a wide range of patients and issues. A technique may work for one patient but not the other. Knowing so many techniques make us available to so many types of patients," said Dr. Sawyer.
