Intern of the Month: Matthew Turner

Congratulations to Matthew Turner for being named Palmer Main Clinic’s Intern of the Month for September 2020!

Matthew was nominated by his mod doctor, Virginia Barber, D.C.

“Matt is one of those interns who is happiest when he’s working really hard. There’s nothing I’ve ever asked him to do—mentor another student who was struggling, see a difficult emergency patient, or clean all the tables so we could get caught up—that he did not agree to instantly and happily do. His work ethic is extraordinary, and he is completely accountable for his own behavior and his own success.

“In addition, he has great hands. He is proficient in a wide array of techniques and knows how to modify them to suit each different patient he sees. Most of all, however, I nominated him because he knows how to meet each patient right where they are, how to make them feel important, and listened to, and cared for. Looking back on twenty-five plus years’ experience teaching in the clinic system, I would place Matt is among the dozen all-around best interns I have worked with. It’s a pleasure and an honor to be his staff doctor!”
